Re: Generalized Wire Automata
EDIT: What would be really useful to me now would be an A AND NOT B gate... It would let me make basically everything else left in a compact method. Using the same method I used to make a Bliptile OR gate, here's a Wire1H OR gate, as well as an A AND NOT B gate just because you asked for it: x = 41...

Re: apgsearch: a high-performance soup searcher
I would like to see symmetry options added to apgsearch so that you're asked for symmetry options for the soups you search, which would be reflected by the temporary patterns generated by search's end, as well as the census results(i.e. @SYMMETRIES ...), so you'd know if a search has a certain set o...

I'm not sure that I agree that (practically) all still-lifes in the list should be set to 0. Absolutely, it's just that I left them that way for now, since I'm not too good at giving adequate scores for corresponding objects, hopefully this script takes off, and some sort of database can be organiz...

At some point I still might extend the common-names list to include Achim Flammenkamp's still-life and oscillator names, but that's not a very high priority for me at the moment. On top of this, I'd like to see the common-names list get organized along the lines of (still lives, oscillators, spaces...

Although, a stable OR gate seems very hard to accomplish. Agreed. But at least there is a way. I'm aware of smaller oscillators, both in cells and bounding box, but its size is fairly small, so someone should know about it.

Re: how and when you discovered the game of life?
My math teacher from elementary school introduced us to the national library of virtual manipulatives. I was exploring until I ran across something called The Game of Life, so naturally I went to look at it. After exploring the patterns, and the rules that governed it, I had been hooked.
