Re: c/10 constructions

And here i need help. Let's construct a 4-Fireship-gun with a period of 864. With a p200-rake at its head and a Herschel-eater at its feet you get a growing Herschel-conduit (and a breeder) made only from Fireships and Blocks. I have no clue to build such a gun with Fireships so close to each other...

Here's the circuit so far, just missing the NW shotgun and a few small pieces of timing circuitry to tie everything together after it's all tightened up: I made the NW shotgun, so only those pieces of timing circuitry are left: x = 2532, y = 2171, rule = LifeHistory .C$2.C$3C105$107.C$108.2C$107.2C...

Re: H-to-G and H-to-Gn converter collection

Dialing down the ambition a little, just cross-checking with Elementary Conduits and adding everything that has been found since 2016 to the stamp collection at the top of this thread, would be a great start -- would make it much easier to look up timing/lane combinations]. I went ahead and added a...

I made a 2c/3 wire receiver with repeat time 964 (using a honeybit bait which was originally posted by calcyman on Discord), which is a long way from 447 ticks, but at least it breaks the 1000-tick barrier for the first time: x = 482, y = 549, rule = LifeHistory 356.2A$356.A.A$358.A4.2A$354.4A.2A2.A...

Re: Reflectorless Rotating Oscillator Discussion Thread in Life

I made an RRO, which is quite similar to the recently constructed self-synthesising oblique-loopships . However, the RRO is not quite self-synthesising, though it would possible to make it so with some fairly small modifications. The following RRO has a period of 289487508: RRO.mc Here's the above R...

Re: Challenge: Self-Synthesizing Spaceship (COMPLETED)

Let's make sure we have the spaceship itself all figured out first. I've only gotten as far as analyzing the self-synthesizing-spaceship-smaller-again.mc pattern so far, and it's not quite a spaceship -- or rather, I think it's a growing-slowing spaceship (288 ticks slower with each cycle). Re: Challenge: Self-Synthesizing Spaceship (NOT QUITE COMPLETED)

Using dvgrn's very helpful blueprint, I was able to make a self-synthesising spaceship! If I calculated correctly, the velocity is (16461366,16461323)c/81569531, which also makes it a fast (very slightly) oblique spaceship: self-synthesising-spaceship-smaller-again.mc I did diverge from the blueprin...
