Flipping does not work properly for center columns/rows.

While attempting to produce a symmetric soup in the viewer, I tried flipping and pasting a copied soup. The two center columns did not flip properly. One of David Eppstein's open questions is whether LongLife is fertile (has a pattern that eventually escapes any bounding box, such as a spaceship or puffer).
