That's the second person. You're not supposed to lie here. Also, I thought you were female.

Re: Lying Thread

Online classes are the best! I agree with this. Absolutely everything they teach us at school will have some use for us when we grow up, especially if I'm thinking of studying linguistics. That's an opinion I'd put outside this thread. At any rate, in-person classes were a lot more convenient.

Multicolor Life variants

People have made quite a few multicolor life variants, including Immigration and QuadLife. With the restrictions that live cells cannot change color and colors must be treated completely symmetrically, those and ordinary B3/S23 are the only possible variants. However, other variants should be possib...

What meanings should we use these moods for then?
I suppose we could try translating stuff, choosing moods on a case-by-case basis, and then extrapolating rules from there.

Do we even have to use a mood for these meanings (or is it always a mood)?
Not necessarily.

Re: Let's create a good language!

Languages vary in their usages of grammatical moods. For example, the Latin subjunctive can be used in main clauses, but the English subjunctive can't. Latin doesn't have a conditional mood, and so conditional sentences use tenses and moods quite differently from English.

Re: Let's create a good language!

I guess the other two strong ones would be imperative and inferential. Also, for the first category, maybe we could make it so that, without an adverb, it defaults to the third mood. If we do that, I think the neutral mood should be the subjunctive. Also, we need to figure out exactly when we use al...

Re: Irrational movement

So in your blueprint, the analogs of the leftward signals in IrrationalMovement would be single spaceships, which the left reflector would then convert to copies of the advancement recipe? I didn't see that mentioned anywhere in your first post.
