Re: POTY 2019 Voting
If memory serves, that was an early-stage reminder to add Remini to the list in the first post, and probably wasn't intended to be a vote for (only) Remini. It's certainly true that the script won't attempt to count it! Yeah, that may be the case. But thanks to the forum's quote-gives-notification ...

Re: Catagolue Oddities
Why some cases of non-interacting spaceships are combined into one "spaceship"? For example, here there are cases where the distance between spaceships is always at least 2 squares. This happens in a lot of rules, and you can find many examples in earlier pages of this thread, also with oscillators...

Usually Catagolue quota overloads are caused by rules with a large number of distinct objects that nonetheless have a high searching speed, e.g. Day & Night. With such rules, nexperienced users sometimes submit hauls of large filesize too frequently for too long, resulting in Catagolue having to do ...

B3/S23-c4q seems somewhat interesting, it has apart from the glider and WSSes a second small c/4 diagonal spaceship and even in the small number of soups currently in the census there's a natural block puffer.

I'm summarizing them on User:Testitemqlstudop/POTY2019 Nominations , and that's also where I'm going to conduct the voting, since it's easier for everyone to contribute descriptions there. I don't think we should hold voting on the wiki, since there are fewer people with wiki accounts and we have t...

Re: Cellular automaton on fractals (i.e. cellular automaton on grids with fractional dimensions)
The main difficulty I see with this is defining what a cell would be. In a Sierpinski triangle, each triangle-cell indeed only has three numbers, but how do you "isolate" a triangle to simulate it as a cell in a CA? Every sub-triangle of a Sierpinski triangle is divided into more triangles without b...
