Wouldn't it be faster to use a script which can generate SLs, while weeding out non-strict SLs and duplicates while searching, than to piping RLS outputs into apgsearch?

A script like this probably doesn't exist though. It might be helpful to have one for the long term, when we have to enumerate larger SLs.
Out of curiosity, how were the SLs enumerated for CGoL?

I tried using a p126 margolus, but it interacted too early on the top and died.
A larger period margolus (if we can find one) could work, either 162 or 378.
Edit: unfortunately a p162 magolus would have a bounding box of 2^57 x 2^57, so there's no real point in that option.
Checking 378 now.
Edit 2: a p378 margolus would have a bounding box of 2^21 x 2^21. That is a bit more feasible.
