While engineering a macro-spaceship in a new rule i found, i accidentally made a much smaller stabilization, using less counterrakes.
If the goal is making it smallest, here is a 2-engine solution (with the back engine pulled as close as it can get with no regard for population):

Code: Select all

x = 87, y = 21, rule = B3-r4z/S23

o3bo$obo10b2o21b2o$b2o10b2o!
1-engine, supported by MWSS:

Code: Select all

x = 15, y = 11, rule = B3-r4z/S23
b5o$o4bo$5bo$o3bo$2bo2$12bo$10b2obo$7b2obo2b2o$8bob4o$9b4o!
p14, p34, p66(!) oscillators:

Code: Select all

It wasn't meant to be the smallest, I just wanted to build something cool.
I was born on march 23 (3/23). I was destined to be here, and here i am.

Code: Select all

I'm a big fan of engineered spaceships.

Accidentally discovered a rule where beehive + bun is a diagonal puffer evolving from B and Herschel:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 10, rule = B38/S234c6ei
3b2o$2bo2bo$3b3o5$b2o$o2bo$b2o!
Speed is 27c/256d, or around 2c/19d.
EDIT:
B8 and S4c are both optional, but keeping B8 while removing S4c removes the checkerboard still life:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 10, rule = B38/S236ei
3b2o$2bo2bo$3b3o5$b2o$o2bo$b2o!

Do these engines have a corderization in any of their supported rules?

I believe not.
I am going to see if there are any other transitions I can add.
EDIT: the engine works in the rulespace B3/S236ei - B38/S234c5e6ei8. However, adding S5e makes it a switch engine, as the debris eventually destroys it, and adding S5e as well as other conditions can destroy it in less than 1 cycle. The cleanest rule is a tie between B38/S236ei and B38/S236ei8:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 10, rule = B38/S236ei8
3b2o$2bo2bo$3b3o5$b2o$o2bo$b2o!

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 10, rule = B38/S236ei
3b2o$2bo2bo$3b3o5$b2o$o2bo$b2o!
EDIT 2: example interaction between puffers:

Code: Select all

x = 54, y = 53, rule = B38/S236ei8
51b2o$50bo2bo$51b3o5$49b2o$48bo2bo$49b2o2$38bo$37bobo$37bobo$38bo8$29b

2o8$28b2o$28bobo$22bo5bobo$21bobo5bo$21bobo$22bo!
Can someone corderize it?

I thought the rule ships couldn't move at c in life also applied to waves. Sorry. Also i forgot that there was S8.

This rake technically produces 3 2c/34 spaceships, however two of them annihilate each other and leave only one:
