B2e3-acjn4a/S23-k4w [C1]
Hopefully with small soups the extremely slow decay shouldn't take effect, let me know of any infinite growth patterns.
The rule seems to stabilize eventually for very large finite soups, though probably not for infinite soups. The rule seems to have a very low ash density, about 1%. Linear growth is natural, but uncommon. Here's one such soup:

Code: Select all

x = 16, y = 16, rule = B2e3-acjn4a/S23-k4w

B3-kqy4ijw5aiq7c/S02ae3-ceqy4-ikrz5iy6a.
Has the glider, a p5 domino sparker, and a SMOS. The p5 can interact with a block to move it by a unit every eight ticks.
reaction:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 9, rule = B3-kqy4ijw5aiq7c/S02ae3-ceqy4-ikrz5iy6a
b2o$b2o2$b2o$o2bo$4o3$b2o!
Another osc:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B3-kqy4ijw5aiq7c/S02ae3-ceqy4-ikrz5iy6a

Block acts as an eater:

Everything except the p11 works in -S0, and the pi heptomino becomes a spark in -S0.

Is the rule g3b24s2h apgsearchable? I was able to find evidence of high-period linear growth; apgluxe got stuck about 1200 soups in.

B3-ej5-j/S023-y4jr
Has a p9, p2, and 4c/24. rather interesting because of its beehive behavior. I also have found a beehive fuse:

Code: Select all

x = 15, y = 4, rule = B3-ej5-j/S023-y4jr
3bo5bo$12b2o$11bo2bo$o5bo5b2o!
Chaotic and nonexplosive.

Which, if any, of these rules are apgsearchable? All of these are stable and non-explosive, but they may form large clumps with entropy too high for apgsearch to handle. Try alternative symmetries as well if C1 does not work.

It's not dangerous for apgsearch at all; it just completely crashes catagolue's server

Nearly every single pattern here - with the exception of the signal turner, puffers, and symmetric 10c/156d ship - works if we add b7c to the rule. In addition b7c has a c/5d ship (the same as from Movero):

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B2-a3c7c/S12-i
ob2o$3bo2$3bo!
There is also a (41,1)c/1124 (!) knightpuffer whose smallest predecessor (that I could easily find at 4 AM) is:

Code: Select all

x = 18, y = 20, rule = B2-a3c7c/S12-i

b2ei3aiknr4cetwy678s1e2akn3-aij5-er678 got stuck with no sign of progress or explosion. There's a c/3o wickstretcher and a different c/3o infinite growth, but it's not clear what apgluxe designated as zz_REPLICATOR.

Is the rule b3aci4cty5acky6cek7s2n3-jq4cekw5ikqy6cei7c8 safe for apgsearch? It's not clear that my version could handle whitespace breeders, because in the past I've had problems in rules with whitespace breeders.

Major support requested for b3s23/WSS_Test. Big thanks to whoever is already helping me out. (No names because they're using #anon)

Can you explain what is WSS_Test? Is there some context I'm missing? The census page b3s23/WSS_Test currently shows five spaceship period subpages and nine yl subpages. The xq20 subpage shows the following spaceship (on the left) and soup for it (on the right) but the ash from that soup does not include the spaceship:

Code: Select all

x = 80, y = 16, rule = B3/S23

6bo2bo54b2obob2obo2bo2bo$65bobobobobobob3o!
#C [[ THEME LifeHistory ]]
Similarly, the yl70 subpage says there are 2336 occurrences of yl70_1_220_bcda2d6374b4e65cf6929b5954a30a44 which does not seem to be found in any other censuses. The first soup for it is the following and does not evolve to a linear growth pattern:

Code: Select all

x = 16, y = 16, rule = B3/S23

How this pseudosymmetry is filled? How do I convert a soup stored in Catagolue to the original soup that evolved to contain a given object?

WSS_Test places XWSSes in front of soups. Use "mystical"'s Python script and it will set everything up for you.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... makemod.py

You can use makesoup.cpp to get the soups.

Could someone try B01367/S03 for me? My apgsearch got stuck about 1173 soups in, and it's unclear if this is an explosion (which is unlikely), an explosion on symmetry (proably more credible), or some other unusual infinite growth.

I'd be happy to if you can post a link to a script for it. Maybe there should be some kind of collection of stdin scripts somewhere.

Managed to get a 10,000-soup haul after several attempts. It has 22 zz_LINEARs and 31 PATHOLOGICALs, so about 1 in 200 soups is bad, and the bad soups took the majority of the time. Some of them took long enough that I gave up on them and restarted the job. The sample soups for those classifications in the haul that completed all seem to contain the same very messy puffrake:

Code: Select all
