B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e is a deceptively stable rule. Here's an average soup:

Code: Select all

x = 50, y = 50, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e

It breaks down into still lifes, oscillators, and spaceships. Here are the many natural spaceships:

Code: Select all

x = 16, y = 58, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e

And the small, unnatural spaceships:

As well as this monstrous 18c/76:

Not only that but there are also linear growths, like a period 8 rake for the short glider:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
3bo$4o$b3o$3bo!
A p24 backrake for the tableglider:

Code: Select all

o2bo$b3o$b3o$o2bo!
p60 double-sided knightship siderake:

Code: Select all

A wickstretcher:

Two dot-osc puffers:

A radical p108 puffer in which there is a collision between a knightship and some debris:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 9, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
4b2o$2bo2bo$4b2o$bo$obo$bo$4b2o$2bo2bo$4b2o!
And a p48 backrake, shooting two short gliders and one tableglider back:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 8, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
b2o$2bo$3o3$3o$2bo$b2o!
All of those were c/2, but here are some 5c/21 puffers, very clean long blinker puffer:

Code: Select all

x = 2, y = 12, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
2o$bo$2o7$2o$bo$2o!
Here's this weird questionable puffer, I don't even know if it turns quadratic or not:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 12, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
2o$bo$2o7$b2o$2bo$b2o!
There's also several knightpuffers:

Code: Select all

x = 11, y = 50, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
o2bo$4bo$bobo4$3b2o$3bo2bo$5b2o$8b3o$7bo2bo$6b2ob2o9$2bo2bo$6bo$3bobo

b2o$3bo$b3o$o!
And these are all other speeds, like two 23c/97 orthogonal puffer:

Code: Select all

x = 2, y = 20, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
2o$bo$2o15$2o$bo$2o!

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 21, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
2o$bo$2o16$3b2o$4bo$3b2o!
21c/83 that may be a different type of growth, seeing as it shoots tablegliders into the middle, it's easier to just watch the pattern:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 19, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
2o$bo$2o14$b2o$2bo$b2o!
There are others, but I'll spare them for the sake of brevity. All of them are at the same speeds as others, anyway.

I discovered a p168 that should lead to other periods, it shuttles the failed replicator cleanly and creates a massive freaking spark at the end:

Code: Select all

x = 41, y = 17, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
8b2o3b2o3b2o3b2o3b2o3b2o3b2o$8bo4bo4bo4bo4bo4bo4bo$10bo4bo4bo4bo4bo4bo

2o3b2o3b2o3b2o!
It can, of course, be used to build guns. Here are a few, but you're welcome to post smaller ones (maybe catalyzing the spark instead of crashing two into eachother):

Here's a breeder, 10 cells:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 11, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
2o$bo$2o6$b2o$2bo$b2o!
However, a mere 8 cells is all that's needed for chaotic growth. In this case it's a 765c/5336 (around c/7) diagonal failed 2-D replicator:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 11, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
2bo$3bo$obo6$obo$3bo$2bo!
Maybe it can be arranged into a spaceship, but here's something like the arks from CGOL, although it's still chaotic:

Code: Select all

x = 159, y = 159, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
150bo5bo2$148bobo5bobo$149bo7bo145$2bo$3bo$obo6$obo$3bo$2bo!

2bo5bo2$obo5bobo$bo7bo296$2bo$3bo$obo6$obo$3bo$2bo!
Here's a puffer-esque pattern that creates these weird explosions:

Code: Select all

x = 29, y = 17, rule = B2ce3ai/S1c24-i567e
o27bo$4o21b4o$4o21b4o$o27bo10$7bo13bo$7b4o7b4o$7b4o7b4o$7bo3bo5bo3bo!
To be honest, it would have been better if that one close call around generation 10600(?) resulted in the knightship getting destroyed to end the chaos, but there's a very slim chance of a rule in which this reaction is tamed in that way.
