Perhaps there's a way to make one of these that is so high period (easy) and is dirty enough (hard) that it inevitably creates a copy of itself. The resulting puffer would look like a huge zigzag line, but I don't know if it's even theoretically possible with how tame the ash is in this rule.

Actually, it's a lot like a moving glider loop. To ensure that all speeds can be reached, the phase changes need to be a specific way (so that the ships with 1 signal inside have a period of 4n).
Finally got an example of this after 3 years. A while ago on Discord, Silversmith found a push reaction that worked with C signals sliding along a line, but with EPE I was finally able to find a completion. Below are true period C/81 and C/27 ships with 1 and 3 signals respectively. All rational speeds slower than or equal to C/26 are possible to create, as all nc/(2m+(n%2)) ships at or under C/26 can be easily made by inserting n signals at some given length of the ship. This implies that all unreduced rational speeds can be made with n or 2n signals.

As stated many times before on this subforum, these kinds of spaceships (where speed is dependent on the number of generations) are most likely not interesting to the topic at hand. This kind of adjustable spaceship has been found in several different rules, and has been brought up on the forum at least 3 previous times. I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in Isotropic Non-totalistic rules. I also wrote EPE, a tool for searching in the INT rulespace.

Things to work on:
- Find (7,1)c/8 and 9c/10 ships in non-B0 INT.
- EPE improvements.

Their speed is 4/32+2n there are extra ships that take on the tail of the ships 4n less than them eg 44 can have the tails of 44, 40, 36, 32 but not 34. the tail of 4c/34o is just the tail of 4c/32o back one generation
