I noticed that there was no topic for this (mainly because I've been the only one posting Generations threads). Anybody found a p8 diagonal spaceship c-speed forward rake? I've found the corresponding backward rake and two breeders in different styles: one rake and one simple extender.

I'm quite talkative, aren't I?

—Are any oscillators known for this rule? There are no natural ones, but it might be possible to engineer some. For example, suppose a spaceship that fires off a copy of itself; put 4 on a square so that the original 4 annihilate pairwise, then the daughter copies repeat the reaction.

I know about only one oscillator in this rule, which suprisingly is p3 (odd period, unlike all even-period spaceships)

Three cell is impossible. But with 4 cells here is totally non chaotic (no chaotic element at all), and smaller bounding box:

EDIT2 The difference between totally non chaotic and "mainly non chaotic" can be sensed in golly. Totally non chaotic will run fast with steps of 8^10 etc. unlike mainly non chaotic will work slowly with steps of 8^3 already.
