Rule in which eleveners are really common:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B34e/S23
b3o$o2bo$o2bo$3o!
EDIT: Rule with not only a puffer, but a quadratic replicator, as well as some other interesting patterns:

Code: Select all

x = 35, y = 20, rule = B34w/S23
31bo2bo$31bo2bo$32b2o14$30bo$bo5bo21b3o$2o5b2o19b5o$bo5bo19b3ob3o!
A rule that has a p9, and has slightly more eaters:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 4, rule = B3-r/S23
3o3$3o!

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 5, rule = B3-r/S23
2o$3o2$2o$2o!

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 9, rule = B3-jqr/S01c2-in3
3bo$4bo$o2bo$2o2$2o$o2bo$4bo$3bo!

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 5, rule = B3/S2-i3-y4i
4b3o$6bo$o3b3o$2o$bo!

Several rules which fit in this thread were explored in the Close Life variants thread, along with quite a few other rules which are further away from CGoL (in terms of number of isotropic transitions). Here is a summary of those rules along with any rule aliases which were used.

B3-c/S23 SubtlyNotLife
B2n3/S23 2diagonal
B34n/S23 klife
B2e3S23 xvaLifeg
B3-n/S23 dlife, (DLife in Lifeviewer)
B35y/S23 hatlife
B3-q/S23 qlife
B3/S237c glife
B34j/S23 4life2
B35j/S23 B35j_S23
B3-k/S23 xtdbee
B3/S234y

B34k/S23. I don't see anything interesting.
B34a/S23. Exploding rule.
B34i/S23, Slowly Exploding rule.
B34n/S23, Nothing interesting.

A tagalong can be attached to a glider in that rule:

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 9, rule = B3/S234w
3bo$3b2o$2bobo2$2o$3o2$2b2o$3bo!
I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in Isotropic Non-totalistic rules. I also wrote EPE, a tool for searching in the INT rulespace.

Things to work on:
- Find (7,1)c/8 and 9c/10 ships in non-B0 INT.
- EPE improvements.

EDIT: I found a c/30d in a rule very similar to this one (but unfortunately not within one transition):

Code: Select all

p3 and p4:

x = 16, y = 5, rule = B3/S2-n3
13b2o$3b3o8b2o$3o8bo3bo$11b2o$12b2o!
EDIT: c/3:

Code: Select all

The rule is very alien, with oscillators like this:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 5, rule = B3/S2-a3
3bo$b2o$3bo$2o$bo!
But to my utter surprise:

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 4, rule = B3/S2-a3

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 9, rule = B3-jqr/S01c2-in3

B3/S2-c3 is much deader, has more bi-blocks, no beehives and has this neat p2:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = B3/S2-c3
3o$obo$3o!
And this reaction where a glider pulls a small constellation of blocks while dispacing one of the blocks:

Code: Select all

x = 19, y = 14, rule = B3/S2-c3

B3/S23-n has, aside from a variety of nice small oscillators that can be seen on Catagolue, various interesting ships:

Several 2c/4 orthogonals:

Code: Select all

x = 35, y = 7, rule = B3/S23-n
b2o11bo16bo$obo10b2o14bobo$o11b2o14b2o$2o11b2o14b2o$2bo11b2o14b2o$15b
4o12b4o$16bo15bo!
A glide-symmetric c/8 diagonal:

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 7, rule = B3/S23-n
2o$obo$obo$2bo$2bo$3b3o$4b2o!
And a space-symmetric c/4 diagonal:

Code: Select all

x = 7, y = 7, rule = B3/S23-n
3bo$2b3obo$b2o2b2o$2o$bo$2bo$b2o!
All of these occur naturally, even though CGoL's glider and WSSes don't work in this rule.

There probably* are. The only other elementary** beehive-pushing ship I know of using this specific mechanism is this c/17:

Code: Select all

x = 10, y = 5, rule = B34n7/S23
8b2o$b2o4b2o$o2bo2bo2bo$b2o4b2o$8b2o!
*If a beehive-pushing ship exists, it is probably big.

**It's not too likely that you'll find an engineered spaceship in a rule unless it has a puffer engine, replicator, or easily constructible duplicator.

(complete switch of topic)

In B3-y/S23 twin bees are a puffer/failed replicator:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 9, rule = B3-y/S23
3o$o$o$bo2$bo$o$o$3o!
A 4-engine 12c/32 ship:

Re: Rules 1 transition from Life

I wasn’t even going to do anything with this rule, (I was going to rulegolf) but I stumbled across this natural p20 oscillator.

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 13, rule = B2i3/S23
5b3o$5bobo$5b3o3$3o7b3o$obo7bobo$3o7b3o3$5b3o$5bobo$5b3o!
I really hope it’s known.
