Here is a 10-glider slow salvo which makes a return glider for the top half:

I tried to see if a glider from the top row could clean up one of the gliders from the checkerboard push, but the pushing glider can't be created fast enough. That's why I had to do the thing with the tubs.
Now, on to the lower half. I finally realized that, duh, we don't need to insert all the lower gliders with 6c/12s:
Code: Select all
x = 184, y = 78, rule = B3-ckr5y/S2-i3-aek4ci5c

86bo!
The other two super-tub tracks don't even need to start nearby since we can now move this track up to meet them.
Now, a new problem arises: glider color. Gliders produced with the tub reflection and from top row checkerboards are all the same color. By the way, this is why I'm only using the boat creator: it's the only one where both gliders are the same color. Of course, we can make gliders of the other color, either by passing a glider through a tub or bouncing it off a checkerboard. However, it is more annoying and expensive (though maybe less than I think).
Due to color constraints, the third checkerboard (the one that reflects the glider) must have a different color. The two options are to use the boat turner and have the bottom pair be a same-color pair or have the 6c/12 destroy a glider and have the bottom pair be a different-color pair. In GUYTU6j's
original post on the matter, pairs 1, 2, 4 and 5 are different-color while 3, 6 and 7 are same-color (7 can't release gliders and is only suitable for the reflecting pair).
If it turns out not to be as hard to create different-color gliders, there are other options: we can make the first tub (which blocks or doesn't block the gliders) opposite-color, or we can use one of the other 3 turners (loaf #1 uses the color of the top gliders, but loaf #2 and tub do not).
Speaking of glider color, you may be worried that since the 6c/12's displacement is even, it could potentially only create boats with gliders of the wrong color (relative to the tubs). Fortunately, Chai's 6c/12 shooter has the right color.
I also tried naively combining that salvo with the 12 gliders from my previous post, but that came out to 13 gliders. Here is an 11-glider salvo that creates both a boat-creating glider pair and a return glider:
Code: Select all
x = 338, y = 368, rule = B3-ckr5y/S2-i3-aek4ci5c

Note that the first super-tub is shifted 1 cell. It doesn't work with the other tub (which gets turned into a super-tub by the second southeast glider) because one of the other tubs blocks that lane.
Another option is to produce that glider pair directly:
Code: Select all
x = 453, y = 174, rule = B3-ckr5y/S2-i3-aek4ci5c

I'm not sure how expensive a glider will be, on average. It takes 13 and 45 checkerboards on the top and bottom to create a glider on the same lane, so on average it should be about 6.5 on the top, I think? I'm pretty sure the extra glider can be removed with one from the bottom row, or you could even use it to make a slow-salvo glider.
Finally, here is a 16-glider 6c/12-producing slow salvo:
Code: Select all
x = 237, y = 277, rule = B3-ckr5y/S2-i3-aek4ci5c

There are a few other options to cleanly destroy the boat and checkerboard; the marked one releases a glider of the other color.
We don't need one in the other direction because the gliders on the top will be made by the salvo at the top of this post. I haven't tried to combine this one with the return glider salvo yet. For timing reasons, the glider from the 6c/12's creation should not trigger the return glider.

Can someone make a spaceship with THIS frontend:
Code: Select all

If so, call it Super-Tub-Pusher
That frontend produces no gliders, so it can't make a spaceship on its own, and it would have to be an add-on to an already-functioning thing. You can try to make it yourself. Here is an already-functioning pattern which produces gliders with the right spacing to push a super-tub. See if you can use it to produce your frontend:
Code: Select all
x = 88, y = 49, rule = B3-ckr5y/S2-i3-aek4ci5c

If you can't make it work, try to figure out why it doesn't work and if there is some way you can make it work. Once it works, see if you can do it with less. Try looking for ways to use fewer gliders or rakes, or just move some things around to try and make it smaller. If you do this, you will find that you were the true super-tub-pusher all along.
(though I agree with GUYTU6J that there are already many super-tub pushers, and this one wouldn't deserve that name)
