Sorry for another non-constructive post here,

I’ll definitely agree the appearance of this thread but just after the discoveries of the cordership and other tech.
They are notable, no, interesting enough to have its own thread, but remember to post in tfyuca or mdioca first.(need a mention elsewhere?)

Btw, I definitely wouldn’t like to see the spamming of soups of still life(do you have apgsearch m&c?) and of course if you really want to then I suggest you to shorten the rle to one line.

In particular, corderizing means the act of making corderoids, and hickerizing... making Dean Hickerson?
Hickerizing would mean making a spaceship composed of puffer engines whose debris cancels each other out, the first of which was created by Dean Hickerson. On the other hand, what does the 15c/64 diagonal spaceship have to do with Charles Corderman?

Did you read the above? -ize something means "make something into the thing before -ize", and the corder in corderizing in particular refer to the Corderships and not Corderman!

They are called Corderships because of the switch engines, not the debris-cancelling reaction.

But corder-ize means make something into a Corderoid, not into a switch engine which is not Cordership! Can you please respect the convention?

Basically, your argument is that it makes sense, while our argument is that Dean Hickerson didn't just put thirteen switch engines together and do effectively nothing else, and that he's a bit hard to connect to Corderships because knowing who discovered what isn't too important in the real infinite plane.

By the way, there's really no need to argue with Hunting these days.

Wait, I don't see you posting in this thread before. Do you agree or disagree with MathAndCode?
I think that they both work:
CORDERize=make into a CORDERship with the engines
HICKERize=do what Dean HICKERson did.
And no, it doesn't necessarily have to be turning something into something else: To traumatize is to cause trauma, not turn something into trauma, right? Or did I miss something here?

Charles Corderman also did other things, such as discover the shillelagh, tub with tail, and acorn.

Do you have any real life examples for using -ize for Do what xxx did? -ing for that case would be much, much more appropiate.
I don't see traumatize as a counterexample, because it means make someone into a traumatized state.
@Bubblegum: how so? AS far as I can tell my arguments are completely valid and not arguing for the sake of arguing.
@MathAndCode: how many times I need to tell you Corder refer to corderoids and not corderman, because corderman is a person that cannot be followed by -ize. Who cares about corderman anyways? 99% of the people, I'm pretty sure, especially oca people, think of corderoids and not corderships when they see "corder". If you does not, that means you are bizarre, and does not mean the CA community is wrong. You tried to overhaul many consensus in the past, so please, Do not continue.

I've been considering coining the term "Corderoid technology" since these are technically the rules' equivalents of the corderships.
So best case scenario for your argument is:
Corderize -> Corderoids -> Corderships -> Corderman

It's probably intentional, though it doesn't have any real meaning to it (just making stuff up I guess), although I would find it a bit absurd for OCA enthusiasts to completely detach the meaning of "corder" from Corderships and reapply it to everything-that-works-in-that-fashion-but-isn't-a-cordership.

I'm about to request the thread to be locked, honestly. Can you two stop?

Can we create a new Website Discussion thread for this? I feel I'm posting too much off-topic arguments as much as I feel this rule is as worthy of its own thread as B2in3-cky4ceit6/S02-i3-kq4i.

You argument that corderize is named after corderoids and not corderships has a major flaw, as corderoids are named after corderships, leading back to Corderman

I've been considering coining the term "Corderoid technology" since these are technically the rules' equivalents of the corderships.
So best case scenario for your argument is:
Corderize -> Corderoids -> Corderships -> Corderman
There's a typo in my posts (there are probably more because I was in a hurry when I wrote that post)

"think of corderoids and not corderships when they see "corder""
should be
"think of corderoids and not corderman when they see "corder""

You seem to be implying that the opinions of people who work on Conway's Game of Life do not matter. Is that intentional, or am I misinterpreting you?
Can we create a new Website Discussion thread for this? I feel I'm posting too much off-topic arguments as much as I feel this rule is as worthy of its own thread as B2in3-cky4ceit6/S02-i3-kq4i.

Why would corderize make sense outside OCA context?
Can we just allow both corderize and hickerize to be okay?!
