Neat looking CA

Post by ssaamm » October 16th, 2010, 1:03 pm

We're all looking for rules with huge possibility or interest, but there are few rules chosen just because they look cool or because they are fun to watch.
Here are some of my favorites:

x = 1, y = 1, rule = /1/4
A!

x = 1, y = 1, rule = B0/S6
o!

That's because they tend to have less significance. In the two rules you gave, everything exhibits infinite growth, nothing unusual happens.

Well, the growth in /1/4 is clearly organized. I think the objects that appear from the single dot ssaamm posted are emulating a Von Neumann neighbourhood CA
