In Golly in the supplied pattern collection in the Turmites section there is a pattern labeled ,, alien counter " :
( please help me post it well )
It appears to be counting in some weird way . Has someone figured it out since ? In the info it is said that Adam Goucher has suggested that it counts in the base phi ( the golden ratio ) some of the time .
Any ideas ?
