Hello, internet. Below, I have a pattern for a predecessor of a period 12 oscillator in the rule B3458/S568 (I call this rule Triangrow. I don't know if it has an actual name).
The oscillator doesn't have a name, though I was thinking Sixleaf.
Let me know if you have a name suggestion!
Code: Select all
#N Sixleaf predecessor (unofficial)
#C Generation 158 is one part of the actual oscillator, Sixleaf.
x = 20, y = 20, rule = 568/3458

Welcome to the forums! I've moved your thread onto the OCA (Other Cellular Automata) board, since the Patterns board is specific to plain old B3/S23 Life, and have put the rulestring in the thread name.

Welcome to the forums! Seems like you have stumbled upon one of those rules with high-volatility oscillators with p2 backgrounds.
This rule is not new; in particular, LaundryPizza03 has
apgsearched it. I can't say for sure if the oscillator is new since there are too many p12 rotors to say for sure. You can view the apgsearch results at the Catagolue page linked above.
\sum_{n=1}^\infty H_n/n^2 = \zeta(3)
How much of current CA technology can I redevelop "on a desert island"?
