Nice! I know I found that catalyst at one point but I definitely don't remember finding anything that simple to react with it.
Yes, although to be fair, your example here uses a P pentomino parent that turns right back into a block as soon as it has two cells instead of three on the row above the long Z again, which I think is more common, as opposed to mine, which takes three more generations to recover. Also, I managed to reduce its population by one cell.
