God! Why did they have to put that part of the script in? If they didn't we could have solved problems like that one a long time ago!

(There actually is a script that winds patterns back by 1 generation but it would probably just give you useless rectangular blobs of dust most of the time)

Also, if you look at some of the older links in the thread, you can find out saka's real name. Spooooooky!
EDIT: The blog no longer exists. Some things were never meant to be found out.

I know! Try pasting in Sir Robin at gen. 9 and then trying to backtrack by 9 gens!

They should totally hack some sort of JLS/WLS thing into that python script.
(Also, if that post was in 2025, that would be the most glorious necropost to grace this forums in a long time.)
Imagine when there are so many smaller knightships and somebody asks what's notable about sir robin.

Nobody will remember sirrobin, as we dont remember the snail, 25p3h1v0.1, 13ec, 119p4h1v0.

The thing you said about elementary knightships is like "in future we will have flying cars"
"in future we will have smaller knightships"

I doubt that, sir robin is taking CGoL into a whole new direction.
Also, pretty much everyone knows 25P3H1V0.1. The others, I can say that indeed, they haven't been very useful.

But this is all off topic...

1. Of course we don't remember the snail... but sir robin is the FIRST ELEMENTARY OBLIQUE SHIP.
2. I don't agree. Moore's law and stuff like that actually means that "in the future we will have smaller (by mcps) knightships" is a fairly reasonable statement.

I don't think that is a fair comparison. Slope matters a lot more than speed typically-- everyone remembers the G and the XWSSes, the first elementary diagonal and orthogonal ships--sir robin is the first elementary oblique ship. What about the first c/6o ship? For awhile I forgot that that orthogonal speed even existed!

EDIT: On the jokes thread there's this argument (by which I mean point, or perhaps both interpretations together) too:

Wadufi: Is being the first a vital thing?
Fjord: Yes, it is.
Wadufi: Why?
Fjord: For instance, what's the first switch-engine based puffer arising from b3s23/C1 soups that is neither BLSE nor GPSE?
Wadufi: Pony express, of course.
Fjord: And the second?
Wadufi: ...
Fjord: The third? Fourth?
Wadufi: ... Well.

btw I should point out that I know what wadufi is-- I just never mentioned it because I had no reason to (ever). I was looking over the forums for awhile before I joined--I remember when EV posted M4. So I've seen quite a few things that were not posted in the time I was a user.

You made the joke up--perhaps you can explain it. I bet it's in reference to the minced oath gustone uses a lot (analogous to "crumbs" for me) and not the type of landmass or whatever.

It isn't this, is it?
That appears to be the first occurrence of "fjord" but it's hard to tell since the search results of fjord is messed up due to Aidan mode.

The best way to get back to your topic on comics is to draw another comic yourself.

Relax. Nothing has done to lifewiki online. Similar with the hypothetical "Re: synthesizing the elementary knightship" reply in the previous comic, that's done locally and temporarily with "Review elements" - a simple browser function that allows such modification.

Also, I wonder if "isobrin" is an actual user on this forum.
