So, everybody's heard about glider construction. What about glider
destruction?
Like, what's the smallest number of gliders it takes to destroy an object?
For clarification:
- You only need to find one solution.
- It can be any pattern! Spaceship (don't post solutions for gliders—they're trivial), oscillator, rake, you name it!

Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately this topic does not warrant a dedicated thread. We have
a little script and another program named
Seeds of destruction for the purpose. And you can come up with a cleanup easily just by moving gliders around manually and seeing what they do.
Glider destructions are commonplace in
glider synthesis, sure, but there are often additional constraints for not destroying other objects in the close proximity. Also there are lucky cases where you can remove a number of objects at once. These make a precompiled destruction database more unnecessary.
Finally, please use code tag (the fifth button labelled </>) instead of a viewer tag without commands for simple patterns, because the former takes up less space.

This idea does come up every now and then. Apologies for the uncertain welcome for this idea, but it does go better in the Sandbox -- a few other similar threads have been started over the years, so I've moved these posts to one of them. Here's a link to
