Wow, 3 conwaylife users who not only have the same birthday (including year) but also have (technically had) the same names? That's crazy!

(To those who feel the need to say "the same person created all 3 accounts", please note that this is something called a "joke". Look it up sometime.)
Any sufficiently advanced software is indistinguishable from malice.

According to freywa, jokes are not real:
Freywa wrote:There is no such thing as a joke in cellular automata.
Freywa wrote: Ahem. Traditionally (since around 2015, I believe) I abstain from most websites for 40 hours on April Fools' Day (specifically, midnight 1 April to 4pm 2 April UTC+8) because I hate April Fools' Day jokes. They are usually very annoying and not at all humorous.
(Sorry freywa, this is a joke)

Depending on what timezone you live in-- in the eastern US it's not Aug 2 yet.
Happy [early depending on where you live]birthday Josh Ball and Hdjensofjfnen!
(WHAT IF VELCROREX AND HDJENS ARE THE SAME PERSON???!?!??)

Ah, forget that again! I'm in UTC+8 as previously stated.

Only when Hdjens makes a discovery like a small c/8 spaceship in CGoL would that be more likely, IMHO.
EDIT: It seems that velcrorex' OCA posts focus on (outer-)totalistic rules, different from Hdjens.

Happy birthday, Lewis!
I manage the 5S project, which collects all known spaceship speeds in Isotropic Non-totalistic rules. I also wrote EPE, a tool for searching in the INT rulespace.

Things to work on:
- Find (7,1)c/8 and 9c/10 ships in non-B0 INT.
- EPE improvements.

GUYTU6J will presumably be wishing me a happy birthday today since it's the day before my birthday where I live and there is no good system for synchronizing time.

Has anyone ever considered the scheme where we all go by UTC everywhere but we get up at different times? That way we would at least not switch dates at different times.

Happy birthday, random 46-year-old postless user!

It’s 3 pm everywhere! Simple.
but it’s nighttime

Code: Select all

#C O.
x = 4, y = 4, rule = /2/3

Technically, the clock where I live says I still have 10 hours & 19 minutes before I turn thirteen.
