EDIT by dvgrn: The message below refers to a joke Hitler birthday message, which has now been deleted.
This is really not funny.
EDIT: Sorry for being so rude, but please understand that he was an evil man who seized absolute power in order to enact a terrifying repressive state rivalling Stalinist Russia in brutality, and also directly caused the death of about 30 million people in Eastern Europe, as well as made many more people suffer. I know that you were joking and you probably didn't mean any harm (I know Hitler isn't seen as so bad in some other countries), but you really shouldn't make a joke like that about someone like him.

Additionally, it appears to be more polite to say "Newton's birthday" than "Christmas". This is an academic forum, and it's believed that many people here like Newton. However, certain users may hate Christmas. Of course, they're not in any way like Scrooge.toroidalet wrote: ↑April 18th, 2022, 4:20 pmEDIT by dvgrn: The message below refers to a joke Hitler birthday message, which has now been deleted.

Both of the two patterns in the deleted post die in Life.

I attended a party that celebrates Hitler's birthday. I'm gonna set out for another activity on St George's Day.toroidalet wrote: ↑April 18th, 2022, 4:20 pmEDIT by dvgrn: The message below refers to a joke Hitler birthday message, which has now been deleted.

Re: Testing Grounds
Sigh... I was hoping that the deleted post would send a clear enough signal that topics like celebrating Hitler's birthday are really, really unwelcome around here. But let me be more clear.BTS-fan wrote: ↑April 22nd, 2022, 6:03 amI attended a party that celebrates Hitler's birthday. @BTS-fan, I won't delete this latest post, but have a good look at it. Your post doesn't say that you, or anyone at the party, supported Hitler's actual actions. But still, the post got reported.
Now, I really don't enjoy dealing with post reports on silly posts in the Sandbox, and it seems unlikely that other forum moderators do either.
Please understand that the absolute easiest way for me to avoid having to deal with any similar post reports in the future, is to put a permanent ban on your account.
I understand that there are places where a mention of Hitler doesn't receive this kind of visceral negative reaction. It's a big world, and not everybody gets told about all the same pieces of history in their classes. See this BBC article for example.
However, here on the forums there's a definite expectation that you have to be able to learn from your mistakes. This latest post of yours doesn't show any sign that you're making any effort to do that.
So this is your official notice: one more post from you that's reported for similar reasons will most likely result in a permanent ban, with no further warnings.
