Minimal rotor challenge

Post by 2718281828 » June 18th, 2019, 6:09 pm

The rules:
- post an oscillator with minimal rotor size, i.e. for period p the rotor size is ceiling(log_2(p)).
- only the successor period p of the actual record is allowed to be posted (e.g. if actual record is p=4, only post p=5)
- allowed rule space: isotropic non-totalistic Life-like cellular automaton with Moore neighborhood of range 1
- the last post with the largest period p that is not improved/beaten for 10 days wins.

I will start with, p=1, p=2, p=3 and p=4:

p=1:

Code: Select all

x = 1, y = 1, rule = B/S0
o!
(rotor size 0)

p=2:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 1, rule = B2i/S01e
obo!
(rotor size 1)

p=3:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 3, rule = B4j5a/S12-en3ijr4ajr
bo$o$b3o!
(rotor size 2)

p=4:

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 3, rule = B4j5ac/S12-en3eijnr4anr
bo$o$b3o!
(rotor size 2)

[p=5 has minimal rotor size 3]

p=5

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 4, rule = B5c7e8/S01234-j56-ae7c8
2bo$2obo$2obo$4o!
Edit: it's p4 I didn't realize lol
Edit 2:
Real p5

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 6, rule = B2k4z6e/S01234-qy5-q678
2bo$2o$3b2o$o$b2obo$3bo!
