The thread definitions has nothing to do with the proposals.
The thread definitions are your proposal for the organization of the current OCA board. The proposals are suggestions for the future organization of the OCA board. So they are directly related.

Brian Prentice
These aren’t proposals. I don’t have any personal opinions in these thread definitions, it’s just what they are. Also I think the OCA board is pretty good but I don’t know what other people think, at least it’s going to be like this for a while

Speaking of the OCA board, OCADOTY 2021 is several months late. Someone should really do something about that.
I wrote a stdin script that generates random soups of a provided number of a given spaceship. It works for all (non-B0) spaceships in the INT rulespace!
A Multistate INT notation + script.

Yesterday after being edited, the article was inaccurate.
How so? I'm genuinely curious what you're referring to here.

On another topic, you are not qualified to make changes to this LifeWiki article:

https://conwaylife.com/wiki/Brian_Prentice

so please do not do so.
Again, what does this mean? Just because you're the article subject does not mean you are the only person who gets to decide what is and is not included, and frankly, your explanation for reducing the article down to a single sentence (excluding the infobox) is baffling. Like GUYTU6J said, it goes completely against the purpose of an encyclopedia to expect readers to dig up and comb through primary sources themselves just to get any sort of meaningful information.

Thank you so much, you can really see things very well!

As I said, this is really causing some chaos.

I did not invent the BSFKL rules. I was just the first to implement and explore them.

You are now the third person to express this view, the others being GUYTU6J and dvgrn.

I am now convinced that I should not get involved with the article. I apologize to all three of you for being such a nuisance.

What in your mind would be implied from my answer of either yes or no? None of the proposals for the other cellular automata subforum (and in fact the rest of conwaylife.com forums) has been implemented yet since February, let alone mine.
I was simply pointing out the inconsistency in your opinion on yujh's thread definitions and your February proposal and was curious as to whether you have changed your mind about your proposal.

I have observed that your reaction towards that particular OCA board status-summary/future-organization-proposal is quite strong. Am I right if I guess that you have some negative opinions to the scheme, and that that it underestimates the importance of your programs/rulespaces accounts for the overreaction?

Diverting the topic to other minor issues is really bad practice and does nothing good to your argument.

Just some silly writings of my own after seeing a history meme, whose central idea is that eliminating the direct cause for an event effectively changes the process/development of history. Figuring out the references is not hard

The thing is, nobody has expressed willingness to organize the contest. Maybe there should be a tutorial/guidance for the job so that other users can
easily get the hang of it.

No, he can't. But it's obviously not the reason why they don't celebrate May Day.

By the way, congratulations on finding a new Garden of Eden pattern in OCA.

Found this on the net

A primary school teacher who left a class of 25 pupils in tears after she told them Santa Claus did
not exist has been fired. -snip-
However,t he head teacher in Angela McCormick refused to comment on the incident.
It was reported that another teacher in China said to the students that "boys don't dance".

LLAMASKYWALKER actually quoted on this earlier and stated it was a p361 and it was a mistake. (it's not p391)
But LLAMASKYWALKER made the correction inside of the quote (and inside of the code) rather than outside the quote, and then the post was just deleted soon after.

EDIT by dvgrn: Thanks for explaining that. The post got reported, and I did a quick scan but missed the 9->6 change. Have edited in reasonable fixes for the various posts, I hope.

How to open an RLE file in Windows 10:
  1. Download it.
  2. Change the app with which to open it to Notepad.
  3. Open it, then Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C.
  4. You're done!
I managed to open racetrackSIX.rle with it. :)

ColorfulGalaxy figured out the apgcodes of various patterns include some "enormous breeders". He also found two "counterfeit gliders", one in rule 5/01234r56 (later found explosive), the other in a Range 2 von Neumann rule that doesn't seem to work in LifeViewer.

This rule demonstrates that even with a teeny change in rules, you get huge changes in the patterns. There is the oblique puffer, the statorless p23, the schick engine being a puffer, the r-pentomino dying out, many mew spaceships, and all the things(like the breeders) based in them.
Welcome to the forums, and please read the forum rules. In particular, it is recommended to edit the last your post in a thread, instead of posting multiple messages consecutively in the same topic - otherwise the thread quickly becomes cluttered with chat-like replies. Note also recommendations to keep the formatting simple, and to use "code" tags instead of "viewer" tags when posting your patterns.

This post is a proof that HotWheels9232 knows how to use code tags.

I do not want to discourage contributions or something, but please slow down. Almost hundred posts in four days is a little bit too much. I think this community may not be sufficiently large to process your contributions as fast as you make them. Also, it is generally a bad idea to reply to posts that are several years old.
Can't agree more... The wave of necroposting is even more impressive here in sandbox, and I have reported four posts among them.
HotWheels9232, you are now acting against rule 3b in the Forum Rules. A ban may be inevitable given the large volume of these posts.

While I don't want to put this in the CGCA thread, these were coined on Discord:

CFLA (confusing four letter acronym)
FLMD (full length multiword description)

Now if you look at the thread, there are, coined just now, MCFLAs (more confusing five letter acronyms). I hope we don't reach EMCSLAs, which you can probably figure out.

I found this rule on LifeWiki where muzik/AwesoMan3000 made a redirect named "tIronLife" years ago, but where on earth did the name come from? Forums search returns nothing.
The LifeViewer alias list lists these aliases:
IronLife := B36/S238
IronFlock := B36/S128
Thus, the “Iron” modifier is just +B6 and +S8. This explains the nomenclature of B36/S2-i34q8, but I didn’t see where that came from…

Interesting to know the expected result of applying that modifier to Conway++ (B3/S234c). Would B36/S234c8 be called Iron++, or maybe IronConway++? (I tend to think that maybe usually names of rules are not such an important thing to request specific justifications for each of them, at least until someone becomes a little bit too overenthusiastic with naming things, or until the name is clearly problematic in some obvious way, or something. Anyway in the end it is just someone's idea.)
