Someone should start making the irrealis affixes and the adverbs.
Should the adverbs be repurposed words or made specifically for this?

I'd say made specifically for this.

Ok then, there are a bunch of moods aver here, you choose ones you think should be added, I choose the ones I think should be added and maybe we can categorize them into different suffixes. We won't have a single suffix, though we also won't have a suffix for every single mood, we will give more nuanced meaning with adverbs. Is that what you want?
Edit:
  • Subjunctive
  • Conditional
  • Potential
  • Imperative/Prohibitive
  • Desiderative
  • Inferential
  • Necessitative

I'm pretty sure we can all agree on having subjunctive and imperative. We can probably say the same thing for conditional. I didn't include hortative in my list, but that doesn't mean that I would be against including it.

This list seems good to me.

Ok, I'm categorizing subjunctive, conditional, and desiderative into one group, imperative/prohibitive and necessitative into another, and inferential and potential into another. This just means that moods in the same group have the same suffix, but each one has a different adverb. What about hortative? Hunting suggested it.

You mean hortative? We should start coming up with the suffixes and adverbs right now.

Okay. Should some of the different moods use the same adverbs?

I was thinking that the ones in the same category would use the same suffix but different adverbs.

Maybe. Do you mean something like something indicating strength maybe like imperative/prohibitive is stronger than necessitative? Same for inferential and potential.

We can do it for those two categories, but should we have it for the first category (subjunctive, conditional, and desiderative), we could make one of them "weak" and another one "strong", but we would need a third label. I say conditional is strong and subjunctive is weak.

I guess the other two strong ones would be imperative and inferential. Also, for the first category, maybe we could make it so that, without an adverb, it defaults to the third mood. If we do that, I think the neutral mood should be the subjunctive. Also, we need to figure out exactly when we use all of these moods.

Yes, that's exactly what I said. I like the idea that it defaults to the third mood without an adverb. We can make the neutral mood subjunctive, and conditional strong and desiderative weak. Wouldn't we know where to use them from the meaning of the moods?

Languages vary in their usages of grammatical moods. For example, the Latin subjunctive can be used in main clauses, but the English subjunctive can't. Latin doesn't have a conditional mood, and so conditional sentences use tenses and moods quite differently from English.

What meanings should we use these moods for then? Do we even have to use a mood for these meanings (or is it always a mood)?

I suppose we could try translating stuff, choosing moods on a case-by-case basis, and then extrapolating rules from there.

That sounds like the best approach to me. Let's start making the adverbs and suffixes now that we're done with figuring out which mood has which suffixes.

I've kinda lost interest in this project and nobody else was regularly participating.
