Okay. For pronouns, I propose <lit-> for first person, <so-> for second person, <hai-> for third person animate (he/she/etc), and <zen-> for third person inanimate (it/etc). These take the usual case/number endings. As usual, these aren't final. Also, I propose <ngwe-> for "food".

I think we should have a separate plural suffix for persons. Or should we have entirely different plural persons?

There's no single plural suffix, since that's included in the case markers, so separate plural pronouns. Also, if we don't do that, third person plural with both animates and inanimates uses <hai->.

That's not a user page. You should move it to your userspace.

The page could not be moved, for the following reasons:

The title is the same; cannot move a page over itself.

https://www.conwaylife.com/wiki/User:Sc ... s_language is usable. Also, we still need verb affixes and auxiliaries before we can start making sentences.

Ok then infinitive is -(m)ay. M is there if and only if it ends with a vowel. I think I did it: https://www.conwaylife.com/wiki/Schiapa ... s_language

You need to select the User namespace. Also, infinitives are great and all, but we still need the finite forms.

Ok then simple present will be -han + person suffix. I don't think present continuous should use an auxiliary verb. What do you think?

There's a dropdown on the "Move page" page.

Okay. How about we make the person suffixes be the pronoun stems without the initial consonant? A primitive present continuous might be a good idea. How do you think we should do passive stuff?

The page doesn't work now. It returns me to the main page.

I think that maybe we can change the vowels in the pronoun stems to make suffixes. For passive, there should be a suffix like verb + suffix.

You should make endings and words.
Here are some:
table - kara
chair - taj
water - pu
to drink - tzegay
bed - germ
Can you make some too? Also, can we choose our number base?

One thing that we should do is not have one-to-one translations between (all of) our words and English words. For example, we could have <kxuzp> "door/window" and <kets> "water (nonpotable)". For base, I've heard good things about base six.

Ok, that certainly makes sense. It makes it more realistic. Though I really do think that door and window should be separate words. They are very different things, the only thing they have in common really is the ability to open and close.

Similarities:
  • Can be opened and closed
  • Air and people can pass through if open
  • Often lockable

You can say that for many other things.
Clouds and fog:
[*]Both are made of tiny water droplets.
[*]Both can obscure your view.
[*]Both are colorless.
Languages oftentimes have two or more words describing very similar things like "lose" and "misplace" in English.

That's true. Maybe we should use the same word for "cloud" and "fog".

Distinctions like that aren't always made. For example, French "savoir" and "connaître" are both (usually) translated as "to know".

Turkish also makes that distinction "bilmek" - "savoir" and "tanımak" - "connaître". Different languages make different distinctions.
