My number is harder to describe [GAME]
My number is harder to describe [GAME]
Rules:
Each post should describe a real number with a string of ASCII characters (no Unicode allowed), in standard English and/or mathematical language. The description must not include a former description that appeared in the preceding posts as a substring, and the number of ASCII characters used in the description must be exactly one more than the number of ASCII characters used to define the number in the previous post. Besides, the number must exist, must be unique, must not be equal to any of the numbers mentioned in the preceding posts, and it must be impossible to uniquely define that number using fewer ASCII characters, unless the shorter definition inevitably includes one of the previous descriptions as a substring. If any of the conditions is violated, the one who posted that number loses the game, and the person who first discovered the violation starts a new game beginning with one ASCII character.
Example game:
0
92
4^7
3.14
pi^pi
googol
2985982
Rayo(18)
At this point someone discovered that 12^6-2 is a more succinct description of 2985982, so the one who posted 2985982 loses (note that the one who posted Rayo(18) does not lose even though Rayo(18)=1, as long as the violation of 2985982 is announced before the violation of Rayo(18) is announced), and the one who discovered 12^6-2=2985982 starts a new game:
e
.3
250
et cetera. Note that since this is a new game, the string "0" is allowed to appear here.
----------------------------------------------------
Now let me start the first game:
1

The only decision I made was made
of flowers, to jump universes to one of springtime in
a land of former winter, where no invisible walls stood,
or could stand for more than a few hours at most...

Re: My number is harder to describe [GAME]
Sorry, 1 is a substring of 10^^9, so you lose.
And technically speaking, fluffykitty also violated the rule, although the first one who discovered a violation (A for awesome) did not start a new game. The description must not include a former description that appeared in the preceding posts as a substring
------------------------
So here is the new game.

Re: My number is harder to describe [GAME]
3!! is 3 and (3!)! is the same thing as 6!, so, whether this is a double factorial or a repeated factorial, there's a shorter ASCII way of representing it that doesn't use any of the earlier posts in this game as substrings.
New game:
4

Since when was a rule broken? The game proceeded 4, -5, 9.5, 9^99, 10^^9.A for awesome wrote: ↑December 8th, 2020, 12:12 amLike that somehow means you don't have to obey it...

Re: My number is harder to describe [GAME]
Uhhh... for some reason I didn't scroll up far enough, got confused and I thought the original 10^^9 guess that got invalidated was part of this game, not the last. Sorry everyone...Hdjensofjfnen wrote: ↑December 8th, 2020, 2:55 amSince when was a rule broken? The game proceeded 4, -5, 9.5, 9^99, 10^^9.
