I won't code it now because it's hard to code but I might add capture the flag

The upside is it gives guns an actual use because you need to escape back to your own base and can escape on a glider stream.

The downside is no more throwing gliders/spaceships at the enemy's base to make it explode, the home point can't be destroyed in that gamemode
That's a really nice idea. The downside IMO is not really a downside because that tactic wasn't really useful in the first place. What happens when the point under the home point gets destroyed? I think it should be able to get destroyed, but shouldn't cause you to now be able to respawn. Maybe if you die and your home point is gone, you can't capture a flag until it's there.

Instead of building a spaceship, you could also try to build a methusela near the base. I never tried it because I don't know any methuselas so I don't know whether or not that tactic works.

My plan is to make the home point indestructible, that means the cell below it doesnt die

Methuselahs work unpredictably. The best bit of advice I can give is I guess that sometimes b-heptominos appear and move at c/2o.

However, a B-heptomino needs to be 5 cells away to work.

Code: Select all

x = 58, y = 4, rule = B3/S23

Methuselas are better at destroying home points:

Code: Select all

x = 165, y = 73, rule = B3/S23

Isn't a b-heptomino a methuselah? Also, they're practically useless because they can be easily stopped and they're relatively slow moving. Methuselahs are a bit overkill, too. Only a single cell is enough to destroy a home point (which I think is one of the weaknesses of this game). I can play now. I was busy last night, but I saw you were online. Sorry.

Well, a methuselah can destroy a home point from far away, but a glider still works.
One of the advantages of a methuselah is that it's hard to stop.

I honestly think that methuselahs are very easy to destroy (or render useless). Just put a single cell in front of a b-heptomino in the phase where its leading edge is made up of three consecutive cells (or the generation before in this game so it can take effect in the correct generation). Same for most other methuselahs. B-heptominos are the fastest moving ones anyway. I will edit this post with an RLE later, I'm on mobile now. Tell me when you can play, I would like to do it today.
Edit:

Code: Select all

x = 19, y = 10, rule = LifeHistory
