I made a CGOL-themed game

I made a Conway's game of life-themed game. Am I allowed to advertize it here?
Edit: I am. The game supports Chrome and firefox and the link is http://on-top-of-cgol.herokuapp.com/
Edit 2: the old host doesn't support free plans anymore. New link: https://on-top-of-cgol.glitch.me/

First of all, welcome to the forums!
You certainly can. Is there a link to it?

Before I start the game, is it multiplayer or something?

Do I have to wait for it to end? I tried joining it and pressing c does nothing.

When you are not playing, pressing c returns you to somwehere near the middle of the grid, it only does something after you moved a bit with the arrow keys.

You do have to wait for the game to end, but you can join the queue by pressing q

I think I might have found a bug. The cell you're on doesn't count towards the neighbour count or doesn't evolve. I'm not sure which.
Edit: Pressing enter freezes the game.

I calculate the cells seperately from the players, so i think that bug is not possible. However, if the cell you are on dies, you survive if you move away the next turn.

About enter freezing the game, the timer doesn't update anymore if you press enter. However, that can indeed be confusing.

Yes, the "bug" is totally normal and was caused by a game mechanic I hadn't completely understood yet. About the freeze, cells I place down don't become white cells either.

That's probably because the game waits for the other player to submit their action, too

I think that was the longest game I ever had. I can't compare you to others.
Sadly, the host thought the app was idling and shut down the server. If you know a better free server host, tell me.

That's too bad. I'm ready to play again. Did you catch what I was trying to do?

Yes. Two things:
1) I think my Gosper glider gun actually helped you because you could jump from glider to glider towards my home point.
2) How do you gain blocks? I realized that I was gaining some as I was constructing the GGG.

1) yes it did, maybe low period guns are better in this game
2)You gain half a block every turn

Thanks for your patience btw

But I wasn't gaining any while I was sitting idly on one of the queen bees' supporting blocks.

No problem. I really did enjoy the game. I will try and make something more complex next.

You don't gain any more blocks after you have 20

Makes sense. Do you think you could make a 3 or 4-player version of the game or would the host not allow that? I think that could make it more interesting and fast-paced.
