Photonegative inside

There are lots of SLs which contain smaller photonegative SLs inside. Presented are the (hopefully) minimal SLs for each contained SL with <= 10 bits that are possible.
\sum_{n=1}^\infty H_n/n^2 = \zeta(3)

How much of current CA technology can I redevelop "on a desert island"?

That's interesting. I'm trying to understand if there's a reason to expect this, or if it's just a coincidence. The interior cells are overcrowded with either 4 or 5 live neighbors, so they have 3 or 4 empty neighbors, but one is outside the boundary and not counted as part of the negative. I can also see why tub and barge never appear as negatives (they would require a live cell in the original still life with 4 neighbors). The interior "live" negative cells are overcrowded and the ones around the boundary usually have 2 or fewer neighbors unless there's a stabilization.

Can these grow arbitrary large? Maybe in one direction like a snake.

The number of still-life interiors that this can be done with is extremely limited. It's easy to show that the interiors of tubs (including all barges, long boat, and very long ships), carrier, loaves, pythons, ponds, mangos, shillelaghs, loops, and anything with an eater tail are toxic. This can be done with snakes of any length, so there are infinitely many solutions. I could only find the following viable ones up to 10 bits (although many of these can be modified into alternates containing the same inverted still-lifes):

Code: Select all

x = 49, y = 78, rule = B3/S23

I've managed to show that all CGOL stilllived that have any of B4ceknyqjtz can't have a negative.

Tails are possible, how did you think that it is impossible?

Code: Select all

x = 9, y = 7, rule = LifeHistory
.2A$A2DA$ADADA2.2A$.ADADA2.A$3.ADA.A$3.A2DA$4.2A!
My 550yh post!
Edit 1:
Oops, still missing a side. However, hat is possible and is dot with two tails
Edit 2:
Let's prove what erictom333 proved.
1:
B4c
Let's focus on the b4c place:

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = LifeHistory
CBC$3B$CBC!
In order for it to be b4c, the blue cells cannot be on. That means that there is s4e in the still life that contains that in the photonegative, which is impossible.
2:B4e
In a similar way, the blie cells cannot be on, meaning there is s4c in the still life that contains it in the photonegative

Code: Select all

x = 3, y = 3, rule = LifeHistory
BAB$ABA$BAB!
3:B4
The other cells in whatever B4 transitions(the blue cells) cannot be on, meaning teher is s4 in the still life that contains it in the photonegative.
How about b5?
4:B5y
Possible.

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 5, rule = LifeHistory
2.2A$.A2DA$AD2ADA$.A2DA$2.2A!
5:B5c
Possible.

Code: Select all

x = 5, y = 5, rule = LifeHistory
2.A$.ADA$ADADA$.A2DA$2.2A!
6:
B5i
Impossible to have one because of overpopulation.
My rules:
B34q/S23-k(ObliquePufferLife) and
B2n3-n4c5c/S234cz5cPM me to get some help on making rules!

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 5, rule = B3-k/S23

but it's sadly an oscillator so it's still lonely. it also has a photonegative bipole on the bottom.
