Does there exist, in B45678/S2345, a "full" oscillator in which the casing is a diamond?
This is an example of a "full" oscillator of period 97

As you can see, full oscillators tend to have higher periods and use all space given for the rotor.
But when I change the casing to a diamond shape, randomness inside just degrades into
a) a vacuum
b) a still life
c) non-full oscillators

I would hesitate to call it the "equivalent" of anything. The purpose of the thread is stated in the opening post. However, I want to stress, as I did in the opening post, that this is not a "random posts" thread.

I wonder how hard would it be to setup some kind of an automated public database, so that people can submit spaceships (and probably other objects/patterns of interest) they find and check whether these are known/when and how they were found. This could be an improvement over posting unsure discoveries. This could also be an improvement over submitting new patterns in forum threads to have someone else collect and process them manually.

I think that for it to work at all, it should be sufficiently easy to submit a pattern, and submissions should be processed automatically (rather than e.g. by having someone go through a thread and manually collect patterns from posts). It should be possible to submit a pattern regardless of the specific way it was found (e.g. by a specific software or by manual exploration).

I think it would be very useful to avoid whenever possible discarding already collected and stored patterns - even if new submissions happen to be "better" in some way / according to some criteria - because often it is useful to know (to be able to choose from) multiple distinct ways of doing the same thing; what is optimal in one situation may not be optimal in another context. I do understand that keeping multiple solutions to each specific problem will increase the size of the (imagined) database - but that might be still manageable, assuming those patterns are actually found in an interesting/nontrivial way by someone (rather than e.g. by doing an exhaustive brute-force search and finding millions of ways to do the same thing) and are/were useful/interesting in at least one situation.

What are non-obvious challenges with attempting to set up something like this? Does something like this already exist?

The diehard still dies in Lifeviewer by "all spaceships crash into wall".
I don't know how, but when each spaceship crashes into the LifeViewer wall, it leaves behind no debris. Can someone enlighten me?

Lifeviewer, running on your browser, simply cannot simulate a very large pattern, so all cells touching the border or cells touching cells touching cells that touch the border, will be deleted.

I was playing around with a dart and eaters when I found this (transparent block).

Edit: One "wing" of the dart is eaten, the top part pushes the beehive and the pentadecathlon pushes it back, and the other wing turns into a sort of b-heptomino, which I tried to catalyse.

Edit: Is there a stable beehive pusher that can be put in here to make it stable but not periodic? The pentadecathlon gets destroyed if it is in the incorrect phase.
