It already exists, and there is no trace of just one T-tetromino.

Yep, the pi-heptomino (great-grandparent of the house) is an almost-spaceship. It moves at 9c/30 but the junk it leaves behind moves faster, and catches up to it. There are several known ways to delete/hassle the junk so it doesn't catch up with the replicated pi and kill it. The simplest is the 3c/10 pi wave.
