It's probably the smallest using known oscillators. It doesn't look like there are any suitable domino sparks for the pseudo barberpole or octagon II to interact with.

The p320 was already in Skopje; I've just added the p496 to the fixed oscillators list.

I have also updated the original SKOP106 pattern at the start of this thread with all the latest discoveries.

I've pushed a commit to Skopje allowing "boring" oscillators to be excluded by adding the option unique=True (or using skuop() instead) – this includes LCM and signal loop oscillators. As of that commit I've only made this distinction for p20, p21 and p690; for the first two I've designated the following oscillators as SKUOP20 and SKUOP21 where the U stands for unique:

For interesting p42s, this one is smaller than the one on the wiki at 148 cells, but it would need either a name that makes clear that it's not the pre-pulsar shuttle listed already or a link to Catagolue or some other place.

Well if you need a name to identify it, it definitely isn't a shuttle, so I guess p42 pre-pulsar hassler would be unambiguous.

I feel like there ought to be a smaller way to suppress one half of the blockade sequence (so that the other half becomes a dove).
I have historically worked on conduits, but recently, I've been working on glider syntheses and investigating SnakeLife.

This variant of caterer on figure eight has the same minimum population as the version in the LifeWiki, but its bounding box is smaller. Does that count?

For LCM oscillators I do not use bounding box as a tiebreaker and simply include one of potentially many ways to have the sparks interact. But if ever I introduce a SKOBB (bounding box) category that would count.

For those who want to maintain the wiki table of "interesting" oscillators, it has been moved here. This is intended to be temporary, until there is a clear and widely-accepted definition of "interesting" (does it include glider loops, glider shuttles, Herschel loops, traffic jams, bi-block hasslers, blinker hasslers, etc.?).
