I know that there are already a lot of reactions where a pi-heptomino climbs 9 cells in 30 generations, but I found some with gliders and I want to know if they could be useful in any way (and if they're already well-known sorry for wasting your time).

In this reaction the gliders simply destroy the debris that otherwise would interact with the pi, making a clean but probably useless reaction:

Are these already known? Are they completely useless? Or could they bring possibility for a new pi-based reaction? (I'm new to the forums and CGOL in general, so I'm sorry if this post is improper or incorrect in anyway - please try to be constructive and simply let me know what I've done wrong. :) )

If I'm not wrong, the output lane is the same as the input, and it's timing is advanced by 1 tick. Wish there was some way to make this independent.

When this kind of thing is moving away from the source of the supporting gliders, it has been called a "tethered rake". See Slide_gun#Tethered_rake. There's also an old modified version of bricklayer where additional gliders are added to shoot gliders to one or both sides instead of laying blocks:

When the supported active reaction is moving toward the glider source, I don't know that there's a name for it. It sounds like a "doomed temporary tethered rake", but it could still work if the glider source is a regular spaceship-based rake, I suppose. Then it would probably be something complicated and not all that notable like a "growing-spaceship tethered rake".

For evolutionary sequences, I think usually there is the expectation that the predecessors are natural. There should be an easy way to produce the predecessor (e.g. as an intermediate phase in a common sequence; as a phase of a 2G collision).

Reducing population of a predecessor often makes it less natural. I searched the two patterns you posted (the 7-cell pattern and the 18-cell pattern) in the octohash/octo3g/octo3obj databases, with no results. You could find a way to collide several (most likely >= 4) gliders to produce them, but such "artificial" syntheses of predecessors are unlikely to find some unexpected new use in the context of some larger construction.

In comparison, the usual 3-tick Herschel predecessor from the B-heptomino sequence is very natural, with multiple 3-glider collisions and 1-glider seeds that produce it.
