gotta find a catalyst that works in place of the block to complete this U to B

Code: Select all

I can't find a catalyst for the B output.
But in searching I found a 2U-to-G :

Code: Select all

x = 33, y = 19, rule = LifeHistory

The second U delete the Block.

It would be a nice G to B/H with a transparent/bait Beehive if there is not 2 annoying Blinkers.
It's at least a G3 to H.
G3 = 72 + 2n ticks
At 72, it has a RT79 as follows (generic RT is 79+2n) :

Code: Select all

x = 61, y = 64, rule = LifeHistory

A$52.A!
Edit:
Why in Speculative thread ?
Because there isn't any H-to-G3 that fit.

Edit2:
May be more useful.
G to B + B to H ==> need a G4 at min 62.
HSW-2T21_SW2T123 fits well.
But the orientation isn't so good.
However, it can be seen as Herschel Transceiver.

I just added a block to this G-to-Beehive and got an edgy reaction which gives a resettable Block by a Glider.

I just added a block to this G-to-Beehive and got an edgy reaction which gives a resettable Block by a Glider...
Hmm. We do have a known G18 that turns this into a potential adjustable tandem-glider conduit with not-too-terrible repeat time:

How much investigation has been done so far, catalyzing the active mess that shows up if the ships aren't there?

Not so much.
I just ran a CatForce search with 1 catalyst and 1 transparent still life.
That's all.
That's how I found the transparent Ship.

I just ran a CatForce search with 1 catalyst and 1 transparent still life.
Now I'm running this CatForce search with 'The_Medium_List_of_Catalysts' :

Code: Select all

==Setup==
max-gen 150
start-gen 0
num-catalyst 3
num-transparent 2
stable-interval 20
search-area -10 -30 50 30

==Output==
output g2beehive_deriv_block.rle

==Pattern==
pat 3bo$2b3o$bo3bo$b2o3bo$2bo3bo$o3b2o$2o$2o! 0 0
But you'll have to be very patient because my machine is slow, not to mention unstable on the power supply side …

Edit:
Pattern to understand the search :

Code: Select all

Edit 2024/09/25 :
At this time, there isn't "good" results.
The search is at gen 47.
There is only one result available, just a Honey Farm and always need to reset the Block :

I'll share (in this post) the entire result file when the search will be finished.
I didn't share the still life factories due to the reset Block needed.
(Don't forgot it needs a second Glider and there's a H-to-2G that fits with a bad RT)
