If you make it into a long barge, it turns it back into a very long boat.
Yes, so theoretically, if one needed to construct a conduit with it as part of a self-synthesizing spaceship, one would only need to construct a long barge, which is more common and therefore probably easier to make. Of course, that catalysis is so contrived that it will practically never happen in an actual conduit.

Edit: Here's a canoe catalysis:

Code: Select all

x = 14, y = 14, rule = B3/S23
8bo$2bo$6b2o$6o$7bobo$6bo6bo$3b2o2bobobo$3bo4bo2bo$4bo5bo$5bobo2bo$6b
2o2bo$10bobo$10bo$10bo!
I am tentatively considering myself back.

The pi sequence is very common, so I'm sure that there are many such ways to arrange two pi heptominos so that they produce two other pi sequences some time later as well as some junk.
Also, please try to refrain from making two posts in a row in the same thread, especially only a minute apart.
I am tentatively considering myself back.

250 is not a methuselah; it's about average for that size.

By the way, this is the switch engine you were probably trying to include (which runs longer than your pattern by itself):

Code: Select all

x = 6, y = 4, rule = B3/S23

I know you're new, but can you please stop posting so much? Pretty much all your posts are useless patterns or unproductive one-liners. Not to mention the fact that you're quoting 8-year-old posts from people who have since left the forums. While I don't want to discourage people from sharing their discoveries, your current posts are too frequent and too low-quality.
I suggest you edit your posts (the button that looks like a pencil) and look at the last few pages to see what kind of posts are acceptable (note that other threads have higher standards).

Apologies if this sounds too harsh, but multiple people have expressed their annoyance with your behavior and you have not listened whatsoever.
Any sufficiently advanced software is indistinguishable from malice.
