Yes, I saw the right queen bee do that, but what about the top queen bee?
Please note that the queen bees cannot get into this position without interacting prematurely.

Why are there two queen bees? Only one appears to be necessary.
This would be almost impossible to make work, since you would need to have a c/14 mechanism that could destroy a queen bee and create another one in practically the same place, every 14 generations. It's hard enough to put something as small as a glider in place every 14 generations.

You also don't need a full queen bee. A simple V-spark can do the same thing, it's easier to insert, and cleans up after itself. (Of course, given that you already need a c/14 mechanism to do this, this would just be a push-along, rather than a spaceship on its own right).

Your converter could still be useful in cases where the tub already exists, and is part of a larger structure (e.g. tub w/tail, etc.) where it's easier to construct the other structure first, rather than growing it from the tub.

Here's a G+beehive -> R reaction that produced the R in a different relative position than the two 0-catalyst versions:

Unfortunately, a 2-catalyst CatForce run did not find any bait restorations.

I found a twelve-cell predecessor for a twenty-cell still life that contains a snake motif, which is uncommon.

Code: Select all

x = 8, y = 8, rule = B3/S23

I did not except to get a snake motif as part of a larger, almost stabilized region with only seven cells.
I am tentatively considering myself back.

It has been proven that there are no finite patterns that appear to be Gardens of Eden in every outer-totalistic rule, for in rule B/S012345678 there is no Garden of Eden.

It has also been proven that there are no finite patterns that are not Gardens of Eden in any outer-totalistic rule, for in rule B012345678/S012345678 all finite patterns are Gardens of Eden.

By the way, here is a Garden of Eden in OCA:
