can anyone help me ?
I need to know the explanation of this pattern
(Yes another type of GGG but follow me ....)

left arm fires the first glider in generation 8, the second in generation 18 and third in generation 28.
right arm in generations : 10, 20 and 30.
You see the pattern here ?
although each glider is released as an oscillator 30p ( i.e. GGG) there is also a cycle of 10 generations occurring in each arm.
anyone have any explanation for that?

thank you very much!

Code: Select all

x = 120, y = 19, rule = B3/S23

Isn't it because all those shuttles are unphased?
Center shuttles collides with the right with a 2-tick difference of generation.
I hope I helped you

try to forget everything you know about queen bee shutlle, Gosper Glider Gun, Life rules, etc ...

Now look at this:

generation 1

generation 10

Image

generation 20

Image

generation 30 ( end of cycle and repeats everything again and again )

Image

I think this is not are 3 interconnected GGG
this thing is a weapon that fires 3 gliders in a cycle 30p
fires one glider every 10 generations changing only the place where the glider is launched

Code: Select all

x = 64, y = 13, rule = B3/S23

I would suggest that you make use of the 'edit' feature, so you can add more stuff without having to make a separate new post every time.

Also, your picture demonstrates that the reactions are separate; although the qb's are linked the gliders are created separately.

Herik,

Isn't your pattern essentially the same as this one?

Code: Select all

x = 104, y = 13, rule = B3/S23
94.2A$93.A3.A$57.2A18.2A13.A5.A3.2A$57.2A18.2A13.A3.A.2A2.2A$24.A19.A
4.A10.2A6.2A3.A6.2A10.A5.A$22.A.A17.A.A4.A10.3A5.A.A3.A5.3A10.A3.A$
12.2A6.2A12.2A4.2A7.A10.2A7.5A6.2A12.2A$11.A3.A4.2A12.2A4.2A11.2A2.2A
11.3A4.2A9.A.A$2A8.A5.A3.2A18.2A8.2A2.A2.2A18.2A10.2A$2A8.A3.A.2A4.A.
A17.A.A5.4A35.A$10.A5.A7.A19.A7.A$11.A3.A$12.2A!
Which is simply three Gosper guns arranged in a row and sharing blocks with the center gun phase shifted by 10 cycles and the right gun phase shifted by 20 cycles.

I have enjoyed your gun explorations. I hope you will continue posting to this forum. There are an infinite number of interesting rules waiting to be explored. The Game of Life being just one of these.

Thanks to all for the answers. Your explanations are very reasonable.
But the fact that the guns GGG can share the blocks in its cycle 30p intrigues me.
I keep thinking that the cycle of 30p GGG is part of another type of cycle, but I'll try to find some other kind of evidence to support my argument before posting again.
to all who contributed and encouraged me I thank, to the others I offer my sincere apologies for the excessive posts :oops:

Start with a very simple pattern: the basic P30 Gosper glider gun with two shuttles. Look at one of the shuttles. Then advance the whole gun 10 generations. Note that the other shuttle is now in exactly the same phase as the first one was. Thus, the second shuttle is 10 generations behind the first one. If you added a third shuttle, that one in turn would be 10 generations behind the second, etc.
