Quadratic Sawtooth?

I have thought of an idea for a sawtooth whose population peaks grow quadratically. It is as follows:
There is a LWSS siderake gun in the southwest that fires c/2 LWSS siderakes east whose LWSS's go north. It also shoots some other LWSS's north itself. There is a c/3 convoy that can reflect LWSS's in the northwest, going north. It receives the LWSS's from the gun. The reflected LWSS's go south towards the gun. It also functions as a LWSS rake, sending LWSS's east, where they delete the LWSS's from the c/2 rakes. There is another c/3 convoy in the southeast, which cleanly converts eastbound LWSS siderakes into westbound LWSS's heading back toward the gun. It also sends LWSS's north, where they annihilate with the LWSS's from the c/3 convoy in the northwest. When the LWSS's from the convoys hit the gun, they halt its production until it is no longer receiving them from either of the convoys. A (crude) diagram is as follows:

It may also be possible that a similar thing could be rigged with gliders and corderships.

I do not believe that such a thing has been created before (correct me if I'm wrong), so if I'm right, this would be the first quadratic sawtooth made.

I don't see anything wrong, but there might be some tricky parts to consider.

Personally I think the "hard part" in the making of the sawtooth, is making a tractor beam with the eastwards LWSS rake, as the rake is quite big, and the tractor beam should recede cleanly without any debris.

Another thing to consider would be the eastwards LWSSs from the northward c/3 rake. In order to become a sawtooth,
we should be able to clean all the LWSSs at minimum population.

Everything else seems to be "possible thru intricate p30 circuitry", but I know nothing in this field, so maybe there might be other things to consider.

It may also be possible that a similar thing could be rigged with gliders and corderships.

Another possible design would be using puffers instead of rakes. And yeah, I think it's possible to make something similar with gliders and corderships. Or maybe something like the megapixel might work, although I don't know much about that...

Two rake guns fire rakes east and north. When each rake collides with a c/3 something, a backwards *WSS forms, stopping the rakegun.

I think using the p20 backrake wouldn't hurt. It's repeatable at p120 (but longer periods may be needed due to other restrictions), there is already a similar pattern in golly's pattern collection (breeders/p90-rake-factory) and it's destructible by a single glider.

Everything is much simpler than you think!

We do not need to create complicated c/3 convoys that will convert a rake into a LWSS moving in the opposite direction. Instead, we can use the following simple design:

Personally, I think that the halves should be absolutely identical. Of course, we will have to use 2 caber tossers and 2 switchable guns, but the construction will become easier.

Here is what we should do in order to build a sawtooth using this design:

Step 1. Calculate the period of the rake gun, the switchable gun and the stationary part of the caber tosser, the period and speed (not necessarily c/3, maybe 2c/5 or c/5) of the rake-deleting convoy, the period and speed (not necessarily c/12) of the moving part of the caber tosser, the kind of the rakes (p16 or p20, forward or backward). Obviously, we should stick to convenient periods as much as possible (e. g. p120, not p119).
Step 2. Build the rake-deleting convoy if a suitable one hasn't been built before.
Step 3. Build the caber tosser if a suitable one hasn't been built before.
Step 4. Build the switchable gun if a suitable one hasn't been built before.
Step 5. Build the rake gun if a suitable one hasn't been built before.
Step 6. Attach the components to each other. Enjoy watching the sawtooth in action.

All steps seem quite simple, so let's do it!

How about this:
The rake gun shoots a special c/2 salvo which when it hits the c/3 ship turns into a block.
After this salvo the gun shoots back-rakes along with salvos which bring the block closer and emit a glider in the reaction.
This glider deletes the rake.
When the block reaches the gun, a new special salvo is created and the gun starts shooting again.
Another copy of this all operates in a perpendicular direction, annihilating the gliders produced by the rakes.

OK, here is my explanation.

At generation 0 the switchable gun is OFF. The rake gun starts to produce rakes, which head for the rake-deleting convoy. The rakes are deleted by the gliders of the slow rake in the convoy. The gliders from the slow rake which do not delete the rakes are killed by the moving glider eater. At some point the caber tosser emits a glider, turning the switchable gun ON. The switchable gun starts to delete all rakes from the rake gun. Then there is plenty of time before the next glider is emitted by the caber tosser. All rakes between the rake gun and the convoy are eventually deleted by the convoy. The population drops down to a fixed constant. Some time passes, with the population being low. Then a glider from the caber tosser finally arrives, turning the switchable gun OFF and starting the process all over again.

Nothing too much, but the sawtooth would be more tedious to watch. This is what happened when I made the Rube Goldbergian sawtooth. But on second thoughts, it would be way faster than my Rube Goldbergian sawtooth, because that one used a p4830 gun. This one's period is no bigger than 300, I think.

Let's say the backrake gun's period is n.
If a backrake is deleted at time t, position x,
at time t, the next backrake is at position x-n/2.
the next backrake should be deleted at position x-12.
which means the next backrake should move n/2-12 cells
which means that the next backrake should be deleted n-24 gens later.

Conclusion: if the rakegun's period is n, the tractorbeam gun's period is n-24.
Therefore it's good to find n where period n and period n-24 has small guns.

And the above findings show that n >= 91 and n-24 >= 78, so n >= 102.

If sub-optimal spacing makes it easier, there is nothing wrong with it.

I was thinking about the caber-tosser design and calculated that the expansion factor must be at least 5 (each loop taking 4 times the previous.)
At time x the gun stops and the eater is at x/3.
At time 3x the last rake is eaten at position x.
At time 3x+(x/2)/(c/4)=3x+2x=5x the last gliders annihilate, now the gun may start again.

Also, is there a filter which lets through every third glider of any sufficiently sparse glider stream?
If a corder-ship based caber-tosser is used and this filter is added between it and the toggle gun the factor would be 8 which is more then 5, therefore the population would have time to reach the minimum before it starts growing again.
