Yes. I said whoops because the fireship reflected a glider into the debris, but that caused the debris to destroy it.

Two of muzik's mud-slinger, the left stabilised with guard 3, the right stabilised with guard 1 result in a lwss.
I know its completely useless and accidentaly,but it hits exactly the gap between the two fireship-combinations.

Great work gmc_nxtman! It's a shame you didn't find this synthesis before I started and finished the glider-to-copperhead converter! I tried to optimise the repeat time by looking through the syntheses generated by chris_c's popseq script (which is how I assume you did it), but you had already found the best one. Really, I think that running popseq to find the top part of the copperhead should have been done much earlier, so good thinking.

I tried to improve the synthesis by making the block and the pi at once, but all the ways I tried had there own problems (such as getting in the way of the eater, too fast, etc). Here are all the 3-glider methods I tried in case anyone else wants to have a go:

Thanks! And yes, I did use popseq to complete the synthesis. Nice job on the fireship synthesis. EDIT: The repeat time is 387. 390 seems like a good period for a gun there.

It's also good to know that a copperhead v-gun can be made if necessary - 200 seems like a good period.

While this is still fresh in people's minds, what's the smallest number of synchronized gliders that can hit a constellation of smallish still lifes, to produce those sparks and build a copperhead?

It looks like it's maybe just three gliders at the top (or less?), and two pairs of synchronized gliders on each side toward the bottom. One glider in each pair would provide a domino spark to modify the other glider.

22 gliders was a bit much, but seven gliders isn't an impossible synchronization problem. I'd like to see how much bigger a 1G (i.e., triggered by one glider) copperhead seed constellation would have to be, compared to the Cordership seed and loafer seed.

I've given up the gun-building business -- but a V-shaped glider-to-copperhead converter certainly might happen at some point. (And then anyone is welcome to attach a p200 gun, of course.)
