I think I've mentioned this before, but I'm definitely finding that usually it works much better to hunt for new components among the soups for rare objects that have showed up five or ten times in Catagolue, compared to objects that have appeared only once. The one-offs seem more likely to be large unlikely active messes that settle out, often very soon after T=0, or in some irreproducibly specific way.

Yesterday's xs37 was an exception to that rule. Thirteen gliders isn't particularly cheap, and quite possibly it can be made a little cheaper -- but it welds an entire xs20_4a9baiczxbd onto a table in one sudden blob.

For a variation of taste, let's look at synthesis components making small oscillators.

It takes a little bit of hunting around in Catagolue to show that the initial 1G transformation is not new. Most small objects are cheap enough that they won't be produced by conversion, so there's a cheaper way to make xs15_69bojd than by building it from a scorpion, and there's a cheaper way to make xs17_g6t1qrz11 than by building it from block on bun tie bookend.

However, if you look far enough out into Improbable Still Life Land, you'll find xs23_6t1qrz116aa4, which has your 1G transformation at the far right. Remove the top right glider to see it without the synchronized 1G pond cleanup.

1G transformations are generally going to be well-known. Heinrich Koenig was writing scripts to crash single gliders into still lifes in every possible way, a couple of decades ago I think.

Another small reminder: posting just a chunk of RLE in threads like these ... is much less helpful than posting RLE with a short text description of what the pattern contains. Please try to remember to include the description, so that there's some hope of finding the pattern a year from now if someone is searching for it.

Yes. I did all the objects up to 17 bits, and didn't find much. Most of the one Glider conversions resulted in a smaller, more common object, which usually aren't of much use.
