P43 Oscillator from P46 gliderless MWSS gun in rule B3/S23

I was messing around with a converter and a P46 Gliderless MWSS gun, and after the gun and converter were destroyed partially, I noticed a remaining oscillation from the gun. It had a period of 43, and I don't believe it's been found before. I quickly stopped it, and cleared out everything unnecessary. Can anyone tell me if it's been discovered before? Code below.

x = 25, y = 15, rule = B3/S23
10bo$9bobo$8bo3bo$8bo3bo7b2o$8b2ob2o7b2o$2b2o$bobo$bo19b2o$2o19bo$22b
3o$10bo13bo$4b2obobobo$4bob2ob2obo$12bo$12b2o!

EDIT: I looked in the pattern searcher, and I didn't find any matching patterns in the database. So now that I know this is (probably) new, is there any possible use for it?

Nope. It's still p46. It's called Tanner's p46. It's already known.

I think it's a stator variation of Tanner's p46.

Ah, thanks. It looks like it was just oriented wrong and that's why the pattern finder didn't identify it.

No problem. I should have said this earlier but, welcome to the forums! There is a thread for basic questions, by the way:viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2036&p=108799&hilit=basic#p108799

Oh, and one more tip. If you put an RLE inside code tags it'll result in an option to show the pattern in the LifeViewer applet:

Code: Select all

x = 25, y = 15, rule = B3/S23
10bo$9bobo$8bo3bo$8bo3bo7b2o$8b2ob2o7b2o$2b2o$bobo$bo19b2o$2o19bo$22b
3o$10bo13bo$4b2obobobo$4bob2ob2obo$12bo$12b2o!
Welcome!
