well, I guess I would post here instead of unsure/useless discovery, a sacrificial tub allows the normal Hershel sequence to produce a glider instead of its first natural block, and a spark might restore it in theory, though that might be a tall order:

I have tried other method of stabilizing it, but none have come nearly as close. I suspect that Kazyan can find a block replacement that recovers more slowly if necessary.

I have been wondering about it for a while, but it there any viable X-to-U turner out there (periodic or not)? Would be good to know since you need both an input and an output to make a valid conduit. I expect there is some glider synthesis at the very least, but one would still need to worry about the direction for these gliders.
