Also, it might be possible to replace the fishhook at the top with a nozzle that extracts another signal.
Code: Select all
x = 18, y = 23, rule = LifeHistory

Can the block be restored?
Edit: Here are a couple of conduits that only need one replacement catalyst, including one that makes a canonical I:
Code: Select all
x = 39, y = 26, rule = LifeHistory

Also, if a replacement catalyst for those two partials can be found, this partial will probably be worth completing:
Code: Select all

Another edit: Here's a partial H->B:

Yet another edit: Here's a H->E that has clearance on a different direction from the previous E-making conduits, so I don't know whether or not there are any conduits that it can connect to:

Twelfth edit: Here's a partial Herschel-to-Herschel conduit that doesn't have good output clearance:
Code: Select all
x = 24, y = 38, rule = LifeHistory

Thirteenth edit: Can the lower-left block be replaced with a permanent catalyst that works?
Code: Select all
x = 13, y = 15, rule = LifeHistory
7.2A$7.2A5$3D8.2C$D9.2C$3D8.2C$12.C3$10.2A$5.2E3.2A$5.2E!
It seems relatively easy because the reaction isn't very specific about the catalyst. If the block is replaced with a domino spark at generation seventeen, the pi still forms without any junk behind.
Fourteenth edit: Here's a W->G conduit that unfortunately doesn't connect to anything:
Code: Select all

Fifteenth edit: Here's a partial H->G that has an extra boat that I'm trying to figure out how to suppress:

Can the boat be replaced with a permanent catalyst?
I am tentatively considering myself back.
