EDIT by dvgrn Related links:
When searching for conduits, it is not unusual to find a recognized output as well as some still-lifes and oscillators or an active region either just behind the output region or near/just behind where the input region was, i.e. a messy conduit. Sometimes, these can be treated as partials and cleaned up, but even if not, it's still useful to keep track of messy conduits because it's possible that two messy conduits can be appended to each other so that their messes annihilate each other. Here's an example of such a messy conduit. (It's periodic, but it can probably be made stable.)
Code: Select all
x = 91, y = 63, rule = B3/S23
18b3o57b3o2$17bo3bo55bo3bo$17bo3bo55bo3bo2$18b3o57b3o3$18b3o57b3o2$17b
o3bo55bo3bo$17bo3bo55bo3bo2$18b3o57b3o10$3bob2o56bob2o$b3ob2o54b3ob2o
$o59bo$b3ob2o54b3ob2o$3bobo57bobo$3bobo57bobo$4bo59bo2$27b2o58b2o$26b
obo57bobo$27bo59bo4$5b2o58b2o$6bo59bo$6bobo57bobo$7b2o58b2o3$14bo59bo
$13b3o57b3o$15b2o58b2o3$27b2o58b2o$27bobo45bo11bobo$29bo44bobo12bo$29b
2o43bo2bo11b2o$75b2o$72bo$72bo$14b3o55bo$16bo$15bo$12b2obo$13b2o2$10b
2o$10b2o!
As the above pattern demonstrates, the conduit works if the century has certain active regions (the pi) or stable objects (the loaf and blinker) behind it. If someone finds a conduit that creates a messy century, it's possible that the two conduits could be combined to produce a clean C→G, but we'll never know unless we keep track of the dirty conduits that we find.
I am tentatively considering myself back.

Haven't you shown a full example where a dirty conduit was cleaned up by the next conduit?
EDIT: Fixed punctuation mark.

It was technically a dirty version of RF28B, which already had clean versions, but I guess that it still counts. Thank you for reminding me of it. The example is
here.
Edit: I just realized that the junk is actually blonk-tie.
I am tentatively considering myself back.

I begin an engineering clean-up :
- in white : the dirty Hto4G
- in green : jujub reflector to clean the boat
- in yellow : a way to clean the block (reflected NE glider or other source as the stream is eaten).
In this case, the conduit becomes H to G1.
Code: Select all
x = 127, y = 115, rule = LifeHistory

Yes, I also think like you.
But as beginner I am, I only find a cheap stable way to clean one junk (the boat).
About stable glider reflectors, is there 180° with +1 , +2 , +3 half diagonal ?
I often need this reflectors to have a solution of my experiments.

I think compact stable 180° glider reflectors are an unsolved problem, for many lane/timing combinations.
It is possible to assemble an engineered 180° glider reflector, for example using
Snarks, a
syringe, some
Herschel conduits and an edge-shooting Herschel-to-glider converter. But it will be large and slow.
In many cases, there should be more compact periodic solutions. For example a single pentadecathlon can do 3hd:
Code: Select all
x = 52, y = 24, rule = B3/S23

Galumpher engineering has led to a new, spartan, 180 degree reflector. On a new lane.

Remove the leftmost block for a toad factory.
I think that now that there are several spartan 180 degree reflectors based on Galumphoid designs that a wiki page is in order.

Here's a H to G (NE45T163 if I've calculated correctly) with an annoying blinker.

I know
one potentially working way to move the block back, but that does not seem to work here (how to get rid of the first natural glider?), and the output Herschel is in an inconvenient direction (unclear how to get rid of either the FNG or the SW10T108 glider). Other than that, it works one time:

Edit2:
Here's a dirty H-to-R.
But not sure the R output can be well get out.
I show the H-to-R connected to RF28B, but the B output hasn't a good clearance.
Perhaps someone can do a better connection and find a way to cleanup ...

After 2 weeks, is it a double post ?
Here's some dirties dependent H to nG (n=1,2,3).
The 3rd in the 1rst row is solved here :
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1849&p=176832#p176832
The preH-to-LongBoat+G is interesting because the LongBoat can be used in 3 ways (2x180°+1x90°).
The others are almost interesting to because they leave only 1 still life.
So they can be considered like SL-Factories + Gs
Code: Select all

Here is a dirty HFx140H with an annoying Behive :
Code: Select all
x = 74, y = 54, rule = LifeHistory
And a dirty H-to-2G with an annoying Blinker :
Code: Select all
x = 43, y = 53, rule = LifeHistory
They are somewhat less annoying since the big catalyst can be replaced with a Spartan constellation

Edit:
The Fx140 is almost a Behive Stopper :
Code: Select all
x = 74, y = 78, rule = LifeHistory
Why "almost"? I think it is already a working glider stopper, especially in the Spartan form:
Code: Select all
#C Prefixed with Fx77; the big catalyst is replaced by a Spartan catalyst from https://conwaylife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=174012#p174012
x = 78, y = 41, rule = LifeHistory

Edit: here is some odd potentially-useless contraption. The beehive is automatically cleaned by the NW glider, unless it is cleaned earlier in some other way, in which case the NW glider escapes:
Code: Select all
x = 99, y = 53, rule = LifeHistory
