Analysis of honey farm predecessors

Post by hotdogPi » September 2nd, 2022, 9:48 am

I went through the honey farm hassler and honey farm shuttle pages and kept track of the way each honey farm generated, as long as it generated asymmetrically. I kept track of the first group of cells I recognized. Anything with only one result that had a direct descendant also on the list was merged into that list. Here is the list, sorted by formation (similar formations are grouped together). Block+blinker has a lot of different ways to form. There may be some that have the same parent where the parent isn't listed because I didn't recognize the parent.

Code: Select all

Two observations that were surprising to me:
1. The p54 and p55 guns have the same predecessor.
2. I thought this below was one of the most common block+blinker predecessors and the main reason block+blinker is more common than the two objects appearing coincidentally. However, it only appeared exactly once, which means it got merged into block+blinker itself.

Code: Select all

x = 4, y = 3, rule = B3/S23
