Infinite Reflection

Here is a pattern I've created which breeds stable glider reflectors in all four orthogonal directions such that a glider enters the first reflector and is infinitely reflected in a spiral pattern. When a glider gun of any period (at least 497) is attached, you get infinite gliders playing follow the leader. Resulting is a pattern of gliders (with the reflectors) with an area that ever slowly covers the plane.

These files contain the breeder with a p660 glider gun example in .mc or .rle format.
The breeders can easily be moved to accommodate any size glider gun. Different period glider guns create different, usually pleasing glider patterns. Zooming out from the pattern shows the different effects created.

Please post .rle files.

An .rle version has been edited into the original post. Thanks.

What's wrong with .mc files? Golly reads them perfectly.

I also included the .rle file for those who use programs other than Golly, like Life32 which I also use. I use it mainly for pattern editing because I'm just too used to it to break away.

Because of speed.

Huh? It takes longer to convert a RLE pattern into HashLife than a macrocell file.

But running is better. I think.

They're merely file formats, so run at the same speed in the same algorithm. (Maybe you're comparing HashLife with QuickLife; in this case, the speed depends on the pattern.)

Try this :)
