I had the same thing happen some time in the mid-50s (just after the second LWSS formed). I tried to see how it formed, so I tried to back up, and it just vanished. When I tried to reproduce it to see exactly when, it then worked correctly

Try running until after the first LWSS forms, then click previous generation twice rapidly. The second signal might disappear.

Go to somewhere in the middle of the big long barge thing and remove at least 4 cells (a tub shape) to "break" the barge. Do NOT touch any of the other trail cells. Now run the pattern until the crab hits the border and disappears. The broken off section disappears too, even though it is only connected by trail cells. AFAIK these trail cells shouldn't count as "connecting" because it's only a LifeViewer-generated visualization (it's not LifeHistory).

This is a feature, not a bug. The reason the rest of the barge gets deleted is because it deletes live cells withing a certain range of other live cells to be deleted. This is due to patterns which would otherwise make a mess when hitting the boundary. If you don't like this, try something like this:
Code: Select all
x = 20, y = 18, rule = B3/S23

EDIT:
The reason of making this rule is to stack patterns together in smaller bounding box.
Pentadecathlon stack 2 blinkers (p30):
Code: Select all

lazyslug.com, "Anything copied to the clipb

If you select one of the blocks and then change the rule, the other block will dissappear.
Code: Select all
x = 11, y = 2, rule = B3/S23

Select this block and nudge it, then LifeViewer will say there's no room to nudge the block.
Code: Select all
x = 2, y = 2, rule = R2,C2,S4-6,B5-6:T10,10
2o$2o!
This don't happen in R1 HROT rule.
Code: Select all
x = 2, y = 2, rule = R1,C2,S2-3,B3:T10,10
2o$2o!

This is by design. If there is a selection when you change rule then the new pattern only contains the cells in the selection.

LifeViewer identifies that 1-cell on-off has both active rotor cells, volatility, temperature and heat of 0 (which is impossible for any oscillator) even through it's period and mod is 2.
Code: Select all
x = 1, y = 1, rule = B3/S23Investigator

Please let me know which version of Android you are running. There haven't been any significant changes to LifeViewer recently.
Anyone else on Android experiencing this issue?
