On Windows 11 latest Chrome, I created a file called "WorksForMe.png", clicked "Attachments" tab, chose the file, clicked "Place inline", and previewed.

If you need any help beyond that, it would be good if you'd explain very specifically what you're doing -- "everytime i try" is just not a very specific bug report.

This could turn into a useful bug report if you'll just take the time to mention some specifics -- what kind of phone do you have, what's the OS, what app are you taking screenshots with, what's the file extension? Then we'd maybe get someone else who can say, "Hey, I have the same problem!" and then we might be getting somewhere.

Bug reports without any specifics are about as useful as just posting "Something bad happened."

i tried uploading a txt file containing an html file but it thinks its an attack vector

the reason i cant send the txt as an attachment is because the stupid forums thinks its an "attack vector" or something. i also cant share it through google docs because google docs crashes when i paste in the contents of the html txt. google drive is the only way to make it work, ironically

There is something wrong or untraditional with your png file.
You can upload it somewhere else and post link here, so other people can look what is wrong with it.
However various file hostings usually recompress images, so it may be better to pack it into .zip archive before uploading.

I suspect phone just fools users and adds .png extension to some other format (.webp for example).
