This 10-cell still life is consistently misidentified as PATHOLOGICAL.

Code: Select all

The rule is R2, but apgsearch's object separation algorithm mistakenly separates the two parts as if it was R1. Then each half becomes a spaceship and apgsearch panics and slaps PATHOLOGICAL over it.

Should be known, but WHAT https://catagolue.hatsya.com/object/xq6 ... 4t45s34t57

EDIT by dvgrn: the Catagolue page shows a LTL spaceship with illegal states in it, up to states 10 and 14 (J and N):

Code: Select all

x = 12, y = 14, rule = R5,C6,M1,S34..57,B34..45,NM
4.B$2.B.2FB$.BF2.2JFB$B2.J5AF$B2.2A.5A$FJ2A2.N5A$FNA2.BJN4A$B3AN2J2N3A$.F2A5N
3A$.B3A3N4A$2.9A$2.8A$3.7A$4.4A!
But when you run one of the soups in Golly, you get a slightly oblique p6 spaceship, but it runs in a six-state Generations rule, as the "C6" implies:

Code: Select all

x = 13, y = 12, rule = R5,C6,M1,S34..57,B34..45,NM
4.5A$2.DB6A$.DC8A$.DB9A$DC2A2ECB5A$CBA4EC5A$2CE2.2ED4A$DCBA.2E5A$2DCB

Indeed, and so are the BLSE/GPSE ones, since Catagolue can't generate yl SVGs. The pufferfish GIF is just extremely poorly made.

Is this known?
https://catagolue.appspot.com/haul/b3s2 ... 19db83dcb8
This haul has some 'explode' objects which seem to have been a prototype of some sort.
https://catagolue.appspot.com/object/explode_34/b3s23
Also if you look at this page:
https://catagolue.appspot.com/haul/b3s23/C1?committed=5
you can find this haul, along with another obviously hacked one and one which produces a schick engine.

I'm guessing this page is for the submissions that were removed from the database.

Basically this haul contains invalid objects (explode_) so they are not in the database

https://catagolue.hatsya.com/object/yl3 ... z5aeir6ei8 has multiple problems. The object name should begin with yl17_1_24, but Catagolue failed to separate the four gun-pairs and doubled the period for some reason. Here is a single gun-pair:

Code: Select all

x = 18, y = 18, rule = B2ci3aik4c5ry6a7e/S1e2aei3-cnry4eiyz5aeir6ei8
3bobo$3bobo$2obobo$2o11b2o$13b2o$7b2o$7b2o3$11b2o$11b2o2$15b3o2$15b3o
2$14b2o$14b2o!
The failed object separation is also demonstrated by the fact that the gun is listed as having only one occurrence in https://catagolue.hatsya.com/census/b2c ... /D8_4/yl34, but if the object separation worked, the page would list four occurrences (like how yl34_1_24_5b535cd93d08fc5e80adc365addb5956 has five soups, but https://catagolue.hatsya.com/census/b2c ... /D8_4/yl34 lists it as having twenty occurrences because the gun-pairs are properly separated (but the period is incorrectly doubled).

(but the period is incorrectly doubled).
That's because your ship is period two (exhibiting two different phases that have different populations), so the period is doubled (which the whole population grows in a cycle of 34.

e.g. this one

Code: Select all

x = 14, y = 6, rule = B2ci3aik4c5ry6a7e/S1e2aei3-cnry4eiyz5aeir6ei8
7b3o$7b2obo$7b3o2b2o$o11b2o$o$5b2o!
The population grows like this:

17, 14, 15, 15, 20, 21, 23, 23, 21, 24, 19, 18, 22, 23, 21, 21, 22, 24, 19, 22, 20, 27, 26, 30, 28, 28, 29, 26, 23, 29, 28, 28, 26, 29,

29, 26, 27, 27, 32, 33, 35, 35, 33, 36, 31, 30, 34, 35, 33, 33, 34, 36, 31, 34, 32, 39, 38, 42, 40, 40, 41, 38, 35, 41, 40, 40, 38, 41,

41, 38...

Not like

17, 14, 15, 15, 20, 21, 23, 23, 21, 24, 19, 18, 22, 23, 21, 21, 22,
24, 19, 22, 20, 27, 26, 30, 28, 28, 29, 26, 23, 29, 28, 28, 26, 29

the two first, for example, will be +7 and +5, which is different.

At the same time, catagolue doesn't separate things very good when it comes to int rules (and ltl of course), so it's understandable to have does things.

The one-barreled gun grows 12 cells every cycle, so eight-barrled one would grow 96 cells each cycle -- just as it said in the apgcode.

In a recent (failed) update job, Catagolue failed to recognize the LWSSes whatsoever in one of my syntheses. Normally it just says "invalid component": https://gitlab.com/apgoucher/catagolue/ ... 1673392656

Code: Select all

x = 0, y = 0, rule = B3/S23
